Anna Nicole Smith declares father of new baby

On the birth certificate for her newborn daughter Dannielynn, Anna Nicole Smith named her lawyer, constant companion and new "husband" Howard K. Stern as the father, according to People, who claims to have obtained a copy.

The certificate filed in The Bahamas through the Registrar General’s office lists the baby girl as Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern, born on September 7 at The Doctor’s Hospital in Nassau.

Howard previously announced on the Larry King Live show that it was not Anna’s former boyfriend, photographer Larry Birkhead, as speculated,  but him that was the baby’s father.

Larry is still seeking to claim paternal responsibility for Dannielynn through the California courts.

Anna could put any name in the ‘father’ field on her child’s birth certificate she wants.

That alone isn’t conclusive proof who biologically fathered the child.

If I am not mistaken, didn’t Anna change her last name to Marshall after she married J. Howard? If that is the case, maybe she never dropped the last name and gave Dannilynne her last name as well? I thought it was a bit odd when I first read it, but then I thought of what I stated above and thought that may be a possibility.

Now we know the last name of the baby. I thought Anna Nicole might just give the baby the Smith name, but I guess she got Stern! I do like the name, it’s cute.

I feel very bad for Larry Birkhead because he REALLY seems to want to be the babies father but Anna is just blocking his every attempt at finding out if he is the father or not. I think he is the father, but we’ll have to wait and see, if he ever manages to get a DNA test.

I feel really sorry for her actually because she is trying to live her life and the media is hammering her for it, and I think the baby issue is no one elses business but the people involved.

*rolls eyes* You know what this proves? Absolutely NOTHING. I’m still convinced that Birkhead will be this kid’s father.. but either way, DNA tests need to be taken!!

Also, did you hear.. one of Anna’s lawyers quit because he did not agree with the way Howard and Anna were handling this situation. So the peanut gallery’s not the only one thinkin’ somethings off

First of all, that baby looks nothing like Stern…

My theory on the Marshall naming bit (call me synical) is that it’s a complete publicity stunt. Since she is still battling over Marshall’s money, my guess is that she and Stern knew that by giving her child Marshall’s name it shows her affection and love for HIM, not just his money. Afterall, they had such a wonderful bond and marriage that she wanted to carry on his name through her daughter even though he’s gone and isn’t in any way related.

Basically, giving her baby Marshall’s name could give her a stronger case against a sympathetic judge or jury. The way that everything has happened I don’t doubt for a minute that the motives aren’t pure…
