by British correspondent Joanna:

Update: The second British winner of The Apprentice, Michelle Dewberry and her partner, fellow contestant Syed Ahmed have sadly lost their baby four months into the pregnancy, which we recently reported.

Michelle and Syed are said to be devastated after learning of the miscarriage earlier this week and have requested some privacy whilst they come to terms with the news. Our thoughts are with them at this sad time. Source: Sky News

Originally posted July 25th: The British tabloid paper The Sun is reporting that The Apprentice 2 winner Michelle Dewberry is pregnant with fellow contestant Syed Ahmed’s baby.

Michelle beat eleven other hopefuls earlier this year to become the second Apprentice to straight-talking entrepreneur Sir Alan Sugar, on the British version of the show. She and fifth-placed rival Syed, whose arrogant attitude and dishonesty did not impress Sir Alan, were rumored to have briefly got together during filming but split before the show aired. But an apparent recent reunion has now left Michelle up to three months pregnant.

Michelle only began her £100,000 (approximately $185,000)-a-year job as head of Sir Alan’s Xenon Green computer recycling firm in May and is said to be “stunned”, as a baby was not in her plans for the immediate future. However, Syed has said he will stand by her, whatever happens.

i’m so sorry to hear this news. there can’t possibly be anything worse than losing a child… my thoughts and prayers to them and their families.

My step-mother lost a bay at 4 months pregnant. It’s so sad. I think it’s a bit harder when you miscarry after you’ve past the first trimester. But miscarriage is terribly sad no matter how far along you are.

"We weren't trying to have kids. We left it up to fate. I knew there was a possibility, but I was really excited. Even if you are trying, just to see a positive result is shocking!"
