Supermodel Niki Taylor on motherhood

Being a single mother to 11-year twin boys seems daunting, but supermodel Niki Taylor seems to be handling the role with grace. Speaking to People Niki reveals how lucky she feels to be alive, let alone happy: "I love being a mom and the chaos it brings me … It reminds me how lucky and blessed I am."

Niki divorced the twins’ father, footballer Matt Martinez, 10 years ago; a year after her sister Krissy died, and since then has battled drug addictions and a car accident that left her unconscious for six weeks. After the accident Niki put all her energy into her boys , Jake and Hunter, and models very little these days, "I have a good thing going on … We are only here for a short amount of time. You have to live your life. I know that."

Her sister Krissy did NOT die from an asthma attack. She had an undiagnosed heart condition called ARVD and died from an arrythmia of the heart.
