Ryder is getting so big and he is so cute. I love seeing them together. She is a great mom.

Very cute picture. I’m sure it’s nothing but Kate looks to have a little bump. Everything on her just always looks so flat and thin.

- Marissa on

He is a cutie!!

M I think Kate is a great mom too. On interviews lately, she was saying such cute stories about Ryder. I love how she is always with her son in pics, and you rarely see her with a nanny when she is with Ryder. I saw pictures of Kate as a child, and I think Ryder looks a lot like her. He is cute, and always looks like a happy child in pictures.

I remember wondering if they would ever cut his hair because people commented that he looks like a girl, but it has grown on me. It seems to fit him really well and his parents for that matter. He’s SUCH a cutie and Kate looks wonderful.

He’s so adorable! =) He seems to get a little cuter everytime we see him. =) I used to really dislike his long hair but it’s kind of grown on me. I still can’t wait to see him with short hair though. LOL I think Kate has said she’ll cut it on his 3rd birthday if I’m not mistaken so maybe we’ll see a short-haired little boy soon ;)

Wow Ryder grew up fast! I was reading a interview that Kate gave with Vogue recently and she had such cute stories about Ryder. I agree with everyone else- Kate does seem like a great hands on mom. I think its great that Ryder’s wearing the “Little Swimmers” diapers like most kids his age do. They both look like they are having a blast. Oh, and Erin is correct, I’ve read in several places that Kate plans to cut his hair on his 3rd bday. I sort of hope she has another little baby soon, it would be great to see her with a boy and girl!

aww he’s so cute! I want him!

I’ve gotten so used to him and his long hair. He’s made it his own style, but I don’t see them cutting too much off. It can still be long, but maybe right to his chin or just to his neck. I don’t want him to go too short. And this comes from someone wondering when he’d get it cut. Go figure.

But they’re so playful and cute in those photos. He’s growing up to be a handsome little boy. ♥

He is so cute! Is he still in diapers?

- Hea on

I think he still is in diapers – at least that’s what it looks like in the pictures.

My neighbor has a boy that turned 3 in March (I think LOL) and he’s just now been potty-trained. Maybe Ryder is being potty trained now or soon will be…? Those look like pull-up diapers to me.

- Erin on

He’s wearing Little Swimmers Pull Up water diapers.

In her new Allure interview, it says Ryder “seems pretty much potty trained.” Three kids I nanny for are all 2 1/2, one is about ready to start training, but the other two (who were preemie twins) definitely are not! The boy I nanny for was daytime trained at 3 1/2 and completely trained at 4.

- Sarah CBB News Editor on

they say the best time to potty train is in the summer when it’s vacation time at the beach! Almost all the kids I know learned to potty train while on vacation! Most average kids start around 2 1/2 and by 3 are fully there. Some a little later then others. Quite normal for 2 1/2 year old not to be trained. BTW does anyone agree those swim diapers are pretty much a waste! All the do is keep water out but NOTHING in! I’ve been peed and pooped on while kids have been wearing those things! EWW!!!

Ryder still to me would be cuter looking more masculine then feminine!! :)

And kate is a good mom. She’s my 2nd fav next to REESE.

- joy on

Wow, 2-1/2 is the average potty training age?? I wonder if those younger potty trainers have lots of accidents. My first two children were four when they learned! They just had no interest in it and no amount of coaxing would convince them. I was pretty relaxed about it, though, and knew that they wouldn’t go to kindergarten wearing diapers.

The little ones I watch were all different when they got potty trained. The girls would just wake up one day and say, “yeah today is the day” and they would be potty trained. The boys I had to bribe them. :) I think they were holding out to get prezzies out of it. But a friend of mine, her son is 3 and a half and just got potty trained. Its interesting to see the kids I know use it to their advantage. :) Smart little things. :)

I Think Ryder is cute. although I am surprised to see him in diapers. He is almost 3! Would think that he would be in some cute swim trunks. All three of my kiddies were trained day and night by time they were 2 and a half. The preschool i teach at trains them at 2, daytime of course, leaving the nite time to parents…LOL anyhow, cute kid. He will be a cutie weather his hair is long or short…

- jennifer on

Cute pic!! Awwwwww and I was thinking the same thing–a bump! hmmmm Just a few wks ago she had a flat tummy. Ryder is cute…hope he continues to look like Kate. :)

- Doreen on

My son wasn’t potty trained until HE was ready. I started him at 2 1/2 years old and it was a constant struggle. At age 3, I gave up. He was completely potty-trained (did it himself) about 2.5 months later. His ped. said that girls usually train between 33-36 months, but boys take longer. The average age for boys is between 36-40 month.

That being said, even after my son was potty trained, I kept him in the swim diapers, since warm water tends to make little boys pee. Too tempting, I guess.

Ryder is cute. The hair bugs me, but it isn;t my call to make about his hair cut, and they are doing it for religious reasons, from what i understand. Can;t wait to see him with short hair!

- Amber Joy on

I just wanted to mention that the Little Swimmers pull ups aren’t just a substitute for pull-ups they can also be used as bathing suits which is what I’m pretty sure Kate is using them for. They’re disposable so there nice to have if you don’t want to take the time of washing a load of bathing suits all the time. I live in FL and we go throught a lot of suits! :) I totally agree that most kids potty train when they’re ready whether we moms(and dads) like it or not. I’ve known some kids that have been potty trained at 15 months and some that stay in pull ups till they’re 4. It just depends on the kid. I wish everyone who is in the potty training stage lots of luck and patience, it will end someday! :)

- Kelsey on

awww…so adorable. and kate stated that they wouldn’t be cutting his hair until his 3rd birthday according to jewish tradition.

sooo cute.

- Mar on

I’m with Marissa, that does look like a little bit of a new baby bump there! I thought she looked a little bumpy in the pics from her brother’s wedding a few weeks ago, too.

- Christina on

I suppose I just reacted because the kids I know at my daycare center are usually potty trained by the age of 2½. I quit diapers completely when I was a year old. My experience is that the more weight but into the training, the harder it is to get kids potty trained. I know babies who’ve never worn a diaper in their lives.

- Hea on

Wow! Ryder’s hair is sooo long!!! He looks so cute! he’s in a great age… Now, is it just me or does Kate have a bump around the stomach area??? She’s always been so flat and slim, I personally find curious…. Maybe a little brother o sister for Ryder on the way?? Why else is she so covered up on the beach??
