Shiloh Jolie-Pitt immortalized in wax

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has already joined the ranks of the most sought after celebrities and she is only two months old.  But the infant will hold her place in Hollywood history as the very first infant wax figure at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in New York City.

"Even though she’s just a few months old, Shiloh is already an iconic figure in world popular culture," says Janine DiGioacchino, general manager of Madame Tussauds museum.

Shiloh is seen sleeping in an African (jungle) inspired nursery while her parents, Hollywood superstars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie dressed in their ambassador-at-work gear, look down upon her.  Reportedly, African lullabies can be heard in the background of the family’s display. A picture of the her wax statue is available for viewing on the People website.

In respect to the couple’s dedication to charity,  the museum is  donating $1 to UNICEF for every Jolie-Pitt family picture sold during the exhibits run.

"We are proud to follow Angelina’s and Brad’s good example by donating to UNICEF – an organization dedicated to preserving children’s rights around the world," DiGioacchino says.

That’s kinda cool…but also pretty creepy at the same time.

- Kate on

It is strange. I guess it is our fault as we are so interested in celebs and their babies! :o )

- Lisa on

That’s just gross. Imagine that were your baby? I think they should maybe leave Shiloh alone until she is old enough to put up with this sort of thing. Creepy.

- Michelle on

Why can’t people just leave Brad, Angelina, Shiloh, Zahara, and Maddox alone? They’re a family. They have kids. It’s not the biggest thing in the world, and certainly it isn’t something we should be so insane about. This is just going too far.

- Meg on

Wax figures in general are just kinda weird. Who goes to those places?

- yogadaisy on

I think the people who invent these wax figures probably have too much time on their hands. Poor little Shiloh. She did not ask for this crap. Leave them alone!

- Sandy on

I’d be interested to hear what Brad & Angelina think.

- Colleen on

I can’t believe this. That is the creepiest wax figure I have ever seen (not that I’ve seen many.) I saw a picture in a magazine a while ago, with the wax figures of Jennifer, Brad and Angelina positioned together in a creepy manner, with Jennifer on one side, and Brad & Angelina on the other side. I guess these places have to make money, but give me a break. To have a wax statue of a newborn??!! That just seems wrong.

Actually, it’s supposed to be an honor to have this done… it would be interesting to get the Pitts thoughts. I think the figures of the baby and Angelina are beautiful, but that one of Brad doesn’t even resemble him.

- Campbell on

I agree!! I know we all love lil Shiloh and everything BUT this is ridiculous and it’s just wrong to do something like this.

- Doreen on

I’ve actually went to this museum last year and let me tell you, it was extremely freaky! I was scared to death that one of the statues were just going to reach out and touch me, everything feels extremely real and the people at the museum let you pose and touch the figures so I wonder how many people are going to pick up the baby for a picture op. Even though its suppossed to be an honor to be made into a wax person, I don’t think that I would want a wax figure of MY baby in a museum…Interesting how they didn’t make one of Maddox or Zahara.

- Kelsey on

This is creepy, but if they’re going to do something like this they should do the WHOLE family.

- DeAnna on

hahahahahahahahahahaha at least angelina’s not birthing her on a bear skin rug!

- stephanie on

I don’t have a problem with wax museums like Madame Tussauds. They are only trying to reflect popular culture, and Angelina, Brad and Shiloh are in the forefront of pop culture at the moment. However it seems a little strange though to not include Zahara and Maddox.

- josiekate on

Just a quick question, not related to this issue – how do you pronounce Zahara? Is it Za-hair-ra or Za-ha-ra?

- Michelle on

Maybe I’m just odd, but it doesn’t really creep me out? I don’t know. I just assumed that it was like some big honour to have a wax sculpture done by that artist, as I’ve seen lots of pictures in magazines of celebrities standing by their doubles at the un-veiling and what not. I guess it just doesn’t seem intrusive to me, it’s not like they are being photographed or something. They just took the pictures that were made public and created them into something 3-dimensional.

- Mommyx1 on

I feel so sorry for this kid…can you imagine being a pop-culture ‘ícon’ before you’re even old enough to know what the word means. So much pressure on just a little baby.

- Lucy on

Creeeeepy.

- Lia on

I just feel sorry for the whole situation. I mean this poor kid has been born into a situation that she never asked for, and now has a wax figure made for her? Though it could come in handy with terrorizing her brother and sister later on. “I have a wax figure made for me, and you don’t. I’m special.” LOL

- Shan on

Oddly enough the wax baby Shiloh is sort of cute, mainly because it reminds me of the porcelain or vinyl dolls that look like babies you can buy from specialty shops or mail order for $125 or so. (I’m sure you know what I mean.)

Wax Angelina looks pretty too, but for some reason wax Brad looks more like a cross between Matt Damon and Kevin Bacon than Brad Pitt, imho.

Yeah they should’ve made wax versions of Maddox and Zahara as well, but still the whole idea of having Brad & Angelina’s kids immortalized in wax, still as childen is a bit creepy I agree.

The part where they made fun of the whole Jen, Brad, Angelina relationship deal was back last October where some of the people at Madame Tussauds dressed their wax figures up as the cast from Disney’s Snow White, with Jen as “Snow White”, Brad as “Prince Charming”, and Angelina as “The Wicked Queen.”

- Autumn on

Oh do you mean like this?
http://www.heartlandmint.com/

So adorible, yet sort of creepy because they look so real!

(Actually, I’m surprised TomKat haven’t used one of these dolls as a decoy for Suri yet. Better than nothing, I’d say. lol.)

- AJ on

This just seems WRONG to me.

- Diana on

it’s a freakin baby for goodness sakes! why is the world set on exploiting this child? I mean the only reason she’s being depicted in wax is bc she’s the child of brad and angie two gorgeous famous couples. But agree if it’s going to be done do it w/ all the kids or else don’t do it at all!

- joy on

There is NO WAY that I would allow this to happen if ALL of my family was not included in it. There are two children missing from this family of wax figurines. Why is that? Where are they? Why is this baby more important than the other children. This makes me sick!

- Sharon on

I don’t get it..I understand that Brad and Angelina are famous and both pretty people, but just because they got together and had a kid, doesn’t make their kid any better than the ones she already had, or better than any of our kids. So, why is Shiloh being “immortalized” in wax? I am sick of hearing about this whole family. People act like they are the second coming of Christ..but I have news for ya…THEY ARE NOT!

- nicksmomma on

Go to http://www.cnn.com to see video of the press conference to announce the Madame Tussauds Shiloh. The photographers are nuts and are shouting and getting frustrated when they can’t get the shots they want. If they act like this for a fake baby, I can’t imagine how they would react if the real Shiloh was present. The world has gone crazy.

Also msnbc.com says that Madame Tussauds did not get and does not need Brad and Angie’s permission to make wax figures of them or Shiloh.

- Taylor on

I am very disappointed in Angelina and Brad for not including their entire family in this family diorama. As an adoptive parent, I find this unforgivable. Maddox is old enough to know he is being treated “differently”. No one should be made to feel he is a second class child.

- Fran on

Fran
Brad and Angelina had nothing to do with this. They did not ask to be immortalized in wax. They did not ask for Shiloh to be immortalized in wax. The wax museum did this on its own without seeking permission from the parents. Like Taylor wrote:

msnbc.com says that Madame Tussauds did not get and does not need Brad and Angie’s permission to make wax figures of them or Shiloh.

- Bajan on

I think i might be the only person who really does not care about this. It’s a friggin wax staute, big deal, no different then the Brit-bearskin-rug thing. But whatever, to each their own. And i think Autumn was refuring more to Ashton-Drake,

http://dolls.collectiblestoday.com/ct/store/doll

Yeah i’m not afried to admit i have ordered two dolls from them, and currently in process to get a third.

- Punk_of_a_Tomboy on

I really think the obsession with the wax figurines has to with people wanting some glimpse of “contact” with their fave celebs, hey if you can’t meet the real thing… Anyway, I really agre it’s sad that Mad and Z were not included, how cute would that have been? Maddox with his little mohawk and cool Tees, and Zahara in Brad’s arms with her lips poked out and a scarf… adorable. People forget that Maddox was number one for Angie and technically for Brad too, where is his love? His statue? And how did they make a statue of someone, not even a toddler yet, who has only been photograped one time? There are some other folkd I would like to see made into a wax figure. who? I can’t think of anyone right now, but not an infant, who technically hasn’t added anything to our entertainment driven culture. But please know I have nothing against Shi ( my little nickname for shiloh), I wish only the best for her!
