In better late than never news…Cillian Murphy has a son

Actor Cillian Murphy (Red Eye, Batman Begins, Breakfast on Pluto) and his wife Yvonne welcomed a son, Malachy, back on December 5th, 2005. He weighed in at 7 lbs, 5 oz. For some reason, we completely missed this news when it occured! However, Smart has a photo of Cillian, his wife, and now 7 month old Malachy walking around New York City with their Bugaboo stroller earlier this week.

Malachy Murphy? I like Malachy, but am generally not a big fan of alliteration names. Always makes me think of cartoon characters.

Mal-a-kee, I think. That’s how I’ve always said it. I like the name. Cillian & Yvonne are both rather unusual, so it makes sense that their son’s name would be too.

You pronounce Malachy mal-a-kee. It’s a very Irish name, like Cillian. I don’t know the exact meanings, but kudos to Cillian for keeping it Irish!

The name is pronounced mala-kee, its an irish name which is an anglisiced form of Maeleachlainn which means: “devotee of Saint Seachnall”

I love the pic, but the car in the background looks absolutely massive. What sort of car (doesn’t look like a bus or truck) is that? It looks as big as a house! Thought things in the background are supposed to look smaller… sorry I know that’s a bit off topic.
