Actor Nick Nolte and his 20-year old son, Brawley, recently settled a lawsuit brought by a teenage girl who says she was date-raped at a party hosted by Brawley at his father’s home in 2003. The unnamed teenager and her parents filed the suit because Nick’s home has "a long history of furnishing drugs and/or alcohol to minors," which led to the then-15-year old girl being raped when her drink was spiked with the drug GHB, allegedly by Brawley and his 22-year old friend Nicholas Woodring. Woodring was orignally charged with rape in this incident, but pled no contest in 2004 to having sex with a minor. He received a sentence of six months in prison and was also named in the girl’s suit.
Nick has a history of drug and alcohol abuse, and he pled guilty to driving under the influence of drugs (GHB) in 2002. Brawley Nolte may be remembered by film fans as Mel Gibson’s kidnapped son in the film Ransom.
