Sheryl Crow hopes to have kids someday

In an interview with ABC’s Good Morning America, singer Sheryl Crow said that she looks forward to being a mom and possibly getting married in the future.

"I do think I’ll have kids. Whether it comes from somebody else’s womb and I adopt or whether it’s my own I really have a strong feeling that I will and I think it will be sooner rather than later. The idea of marriage, I love that idea, but I think what I love more is just being with somebody who really creates space for you and gets you."

Sheryl was diagnosed with breast cancer in February of this year and has made a full recovery.  She is currently touring with fellow musician John Mayer.

There’s **that** again…

“I’ll adopt or (whether) I will have my own…”

Anderson Cooper made that mistake on the original broadcast of the Angelina Jolie interview. During a voiceover, he said, “she and Brad Pitt had a child of their own…”

(He was good enough to heed the suggestion in my e-mail to change his copy. And was kind enough to thank me for the suggestion).

Yea, ’cause we all know adopted kids are not real nor are they part of their forever families…

NOT!

This just gets my hackles up like nothing else.

You wanna adopt? Educate yourself and use positive adoption language!

Begs the question: What went down w/her and Lance? anyone?

Campbell, I am a pro cycling ho to the nth degree (I ride and I am a huge fan) and there are tonnes of theories why it didn’t work.

My 1st guess? She wanted kids and he didn’t. At least not in the near future.

My other guess? Prenup. Couldn’t agree.

You should have seen one particular blog when they first outted themselves as a couple. I felt icky just reading it. However, like a great trainwreck, it was great reading! See http://www.tdfblog.com

I heard the same rumor that she wanted kids, like yesterday, and he wasn’t on board with that.

I read an interview with Lance’s first wife once – it seemed like Lance was not an easy partner.

He didn’t want kids, huh, he already has three. You gotta feel for guys on this matter. I mean he already has three kids with 1 partner, then meeting some else who wants kids … so on. Maybe he just doesn’t want a lot of kids. Maybe he’s content with the kids he already has – which makes it hard when you are in a relationship with someone who wants kids!

Principesa, I think meant her own (womb). “Whether it comes from someone else’s womb or my own…”. Maybe not, but I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt because I think she’s great.

Normally I am the first to be appalled when someone uses terms like “my own child” in discussions about adoption. However, in this case I’m going to agree with the earlier poster who said they think she was referring to her own womb. The way she worded it made me think she just meant a child from someone else’s womb vs. a child from her own womb, and not an adopted child vs. a child of her own.
