Matt Damon's a proud papa!

Matt Damon’s little girl Isabella has put him on the ‘Proud Papa’ list.  We all love his boy next door look and now we love him even more as a member of ‘the daddy club.’ Here’s some of Matt’s new Daddy gear. He was gifted the Brooklyn style Smoy photo cuff, a hip JJB Dad Bag by Ju-Ju-Be.com, and a Dad Pad from I’m Still Me.

That’s great but it just continues to amaze me WHY these are given to celebs who can very well buy their own and then some!! Why don’t these places give these items to people that actually NEED them!! Uggh…it’s just disgusting when celebs get all of this free stuff and the less fortunate get nothing from these places. It’s just not right!

Does there have to be SOOOO many advertisements on this site, ALL THE TIME? It gets real old after a while reading about the free swag celebs get, their strollers, their shoes, yada, yada, yada. We get it!! Geez!! Why don’t you make a special section for this kind of stuff?

The posts about stuff celebs buy or get as gifts or receive free from companies are NOT advertisements. The only posts that are ads are the ones that say Sponsor or Giveaway in the title. Why do we include them at all? Because in our Reader Survey, a majority of readers said they are interested in the products celebs use.

We write about products that celebs use with their children because this is a celebrity baby blog. You may not be one of them but people write in to us all the time asking, “What kind of stroller does that celeb use?” or, “I really like Gwyneth Paltrow’s diaper bag, what is it?”

Regarding advertisements- why do we have them? There are costs involved in running the site, not the least of which is bandwidth. The weekly highlights newsletter, the fun new polls, etc. – they all cost money too!

People give celebs free items in hopes that they’ll be seen out and about using them. It’s like a free walking billboard for your item. There are a lot of people who want things just because they see them on a celeb.

I like hearing about what celebrities are using, I take ideas from them and buy the cheaper versions Yeah, I can understand the frustration with all their free goodies but like Lorus said, without celebrities using these products most everyday people couldn’t care less. If not for Gwyn, would we even know what a Bugaboo was?
