Paparazzo jumps the fence at Maddox Jolie-Pitt's daycare

20060623132009maddox_jolieUpdate:
The photographer who was arrested last month for allegedly scaling a fence at the daycare of Maddox Jolie-Pitt, will not be prosecuted. Clint Brewer reportedly jumped the fence at 10:30 am and the staff made a citizen’s arrest for trespassing. Brewer, 24 was taken to the Lost Hills police station where he was kept for six hours. But the charges were dropped yesterday, July 12, because there was no actual evidence of Brewer’s act. Los Angeles County District Attorney’s spokeswoman Jane Robison said, "We declined to file based on the lack of sufficient evidence of where exactly he was standing."

Maddox Jolie-Pitt
was dropped off this morning at his preschool/childcare center around 10:30 am by dad Brad, and his arrival did not go unnoticed. Shortly after Brad left, a paparazzo by the name of Clint Brewer jumped the fence surrounding the center in an attempt to get a shot of the child. Luckily, staff members quickly made a citizen’s arrest for trespassing and Maddox and the other children were never in any direct danger. Still, how frightening!

OMG!!! This whole Paparazzi thing is getting crazy!!! That’s not right!!! How are you going to jump a fence at a daycare JUST to get a pic????

- kaylamc on

Ugh, that makes me sick! Maddox is four years old! Leave him alone! I just cannot imagine how Brad and Angie deal with this. I mean, daycare of all places! How seriously desperate do you have to be to jump the fence at a nursery school?!

I work in a daycare and believe me: had that happened at my facility, there would have been more than just a citizen’s arrest. After I had finished with him, an ambulance would probably be more necessary than a squad car. ;-)

I’m not one to usually feel sorry for celebs in regards to the paparazzi attention they receive. I’ve always felt that it’s part of being famous. However, when it comes to their children, there NEEDS to be laws put in place to better protect them.

This jack-a*s that jumped the fence should be serving a few days in jail! His license should be revoked for a while and he should be fined!!!

This would be a good reason to sue.

I hate to be the one to say it, but all of us readers have to accept partial responsibility for incidents like this, because we are the market for the pictures that people like that take. If all websites, magazines etc. stopped publishing these candid pictures, stuff like this would not happen any more.

kronson, you are dead on. Bullseye!

- Principesa on

I agree on some level kronson, but I don’t think anyone here, or at any other site, or any tabloid readers would ever encourage that sort of behaviour, *particularly* when there is a child involved.

I just don’t get it. If I climbed over the fence and hid in the bushes at a daycare center/pre-school, not only would I get a beatdown by the parents and teachers (see Candice’s post – lol) but my butt would be in jail and my bail would be set at a zillion dollars. His bail was set at $1000. Why does he get off so lightly just because he carries a camera?

And I’m not only concerned about Maddox’s safety but the safety of all the kids at the school.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with having an interest in celebrities. It’s all part of what drives Hollywood. Most celebrities accept the interest in their lives & realize it comes with the job. Interest in them = MONEY for them!

I don’t think we as consumers should feel guilty for buying magazines or enjoying a site like CBB. The movie studios pay them their astronomical paychecks knowing that the investment is well worth the return!

That being said, celeb children should be better protected.

That’s terrible. But there are those who are willing to do whatever to get their “money shot” photo.

I feel terrible for Maddox and any other children at that daycare. I’d hate for that man to have scared any of them, leaving parents to wonder why their child is so upset/indifferent when they get home.

Jumping the fence where small children are is taking it too far. I know they do it with the adult celebs, but they have to draw the line when it involves small children.

and then people ask why we havent seen the Cruise kid!!

- MuffThumb on

I remember a couple of months back when this site and a ton of others published those pictures of Heidi Klum where the paparazzi ripped open the door to their car to snap pictures of them. I remember how scared both Heidi and her daughter looked, and yet still these were posted to a ton of places. These photographers are getting worse and worse about getting these pictures because people buy magazines and read blogs where they’re posted. It’s going to take another Princess Diana to make people realize how dangerous and intrusive these guys are to the people they’re photographing.

I know people say that well, these people make a lot of money by being movie stars and sports stars, etc, and part of the price for the lifestyle they lead is giving up privacy. I dare you to look at those Klum photographs and say that you’d put your child through that kind of terror for any amount of money. I am fine with people being photographed at events or from a distance, but this bounty on first pictures of Tom Cruise’s baby, etc etc is really going to end in tragedy some day.

- Coot on

How scary!! Just wait til Shiloh is in school, we will see things like this every day! And, Sean Preston also. Some celebs just draw more attention even if they do nothing! It is terribel paparazzi will go to such lengths, but that is the celeb world and it doesn’t seem to change. It should though! Something needs to be done to give celebs some recourse!

- tink1217 on

I can’t believe that anyone would need to jump over the fence to take a picture of a kid at his pre-school. He is just a child. Do they expect to get a controversial shot of him taking drugs or fighting there? I mean what is so interesting about Maddox at daycare? It’s just too weird. It’s not like we don’t ever get to see pictures of him anyway.
