CBB Exclusive: Jack Black is a dad!

Update June 14th: Baby’s name is Samuel, but per Jack on Jay Leno last night, they’re calling him Sammy.

Jack announced at Monday’s premiere of his new film Nacho Libre that he and his wife Tanya welcomed their son on Saturday.  A name has not been chosen but he said that they are considering Samuel.

Jack said: “I’m already having headaches and am going, ‘Where is he going to pre-school? Am I going to put cameras in every room of my house to spy on babysitters to make sure they don’t shake the baby? I love videogames but the other day I was reading about how they can be addictive. And I’m thinking, ‘Am I going to be the parent who tells them no videogames?’ ”

His Nacho Libre costar Ana de la Reguera said, “I think he’ll be a great father. He has a great chemistry with kids — they love him. All the kids we worked with, they adored him.”  Another costar Peter Stormare said “He’s a very generous guy and I love him a lot. As a father he’ll be so great. I’ll be getting him a wresting figure for the little one!”  The director of Nacho Libre said, “He’s worried about being a dad as far as the discipline aspect, but he’ll definitely be the funnest dad on the planet. He’s one of a kind. He has a very big heart — besides being as talented as he is — and cares about everyone.”

Jack Black and his wife Tanya Haden may have welcomed their baby boy!  One of our sources tells us that she saw Jack in the maternity ward at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon.  We’re expecting an official announcement soon!

Were they just at the hospital looking at the facilities (a lot of first-time parents do) or were they checking her in for L&D?

Congratulations to Jack and his wife. He seems like he’ll be one of those goofy, cool type of dads, one who’s willing to do whatever to make sure his kid and everyone else has a good time.

At the premiere of Nacho Libre he said they hadn’t picked a name yet but they’re considering Samuel. (His wife didn’t accompany him– she was home with the baby.)

Some on imdb were calling him baby Jables, but I don’t know if that’s his real name or just a nickname that the people on imdb gave the baby.

A “normal” celeb name for a change…8p

Funny, of all the celebs, I would’ve expected someone like Jack Black to name his kid something off the wall, just like his sense of humor. I’m glad he didn’t, I really like the name Samuel. I also like that it can be shortened to Sam or Sammy.

Ahh. Well this kid is like, 2 years old by now. Which means that Black just has to start ruining his career by doing stupid children’s movies. Enter Kung Fu Panda.
