Introducing Ace Dumont

Buddies_1Although new baby Kingston James McGregor may be stealing all the headlines lately, we can’t forget about the first second No Doubt baby, guitarist Tom Dumont‘s son Ace Joseph! As we previously reported, this adorable little one was born to Tom and wife Mieke on April 6th and is now two months old. He looks like he enjoys a good swaddle!

CBB reader Tealou reminds us that Ace is actually the second No Doubt baby! Drummer Adrian Young has the first – four year old Mason James.

Also, CBB reader Erica tells us that Ace’s buddy is a blabla monkey doll – they’re a little pricey at $30-39, but Erica says her son’s is "unbelievably soft and squishy" and easy to throw in the washer and dryer.

He is absolutely adorable! How he’s wrapped makes me cringe, I’m not a mother but just don’t like how he’s wrapped like that. Ah well..

He is gorgeous. Cole- That is an art that you will learn when you become a momma. Many babies like being swaddled like that because it makes them feel secure. Both of my daughters loved to be wrapped up like that. One of them had colic and it was one of the only things that would get her to stop crying, and the other one-well, the only way I could lay her down if she was asleep is if she was wrapped like that. It does look uncomfortable, but that is how babies like it :)

My son liked being wrapped like that. He would cry and get really fussy and then my mom wrapped him up tightly, like Ace is in this pic. It worked like a charm and he would calm right down and snooze! 8)

I think tiny babies like to be wrapped or swaddled. My mom swears it’s because when they are in the uterus there’s not a ton of room so being swaddled makes them feel safe & secure. That’s her take on it, anyway. It sure worked for my son. 8)

Being swaddled is one of the best ways to get new babies to calm down or to sleep, because it mimics the tight space of the womb and doesn’t let the baby flail his arms and legs. It looks bad, but it’s actually fantastic! Swaddling is my secret when it comes to getting the baby I nanny for to nap!

He is gorgeous! We totally swaddled our baby the first few months, loved it!

Also, I love that sock monkey… do you know where I could find one like that? It’s way cuter than the original ones.

You all are so lucky. Both my sons hated if they were swaddled more than a minute.
And how cute is Ace. My sister is making a sock monkey kinda like that for her son.

He is very handsome. He has perfectly shaped little head. And, the bippy in his mouth looks so cute.

He’s not the first No Doubt baby. Adrian was a father years ago :)

the sock monkey is a “bla bla”. http://www.blablakids.com/

i received a striped kitty bla bla for my son when he was about 4 months old. he absolutely adores it! i love anything monkey, so i’ll probably buy one eventually. they aren’t cheap, but they are unbelievably soft and squishy and can be thrown in the washer/dryer with no problems.
