Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's first public appearance after the birth of Shiloh

BradjolieNew parents Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, both glowing with happiness, gave a press conference today in Namibia, Africa.  This is their first public appearance after the birth of Shiloh Nouvel.  At the press conference,  they thanked the government for assisting them in being able to maintain privacy during Angelina’s pregnancy and Shiloh’s birth.

Brad said, "We have been able to have a very special, peaceful time for our family here, exploring your country and more importantly helping with the delivery of our daughter Shiloh.  So for that we are eternally grateful."

Regarding the bodyguards and security measures the couple had to take, Angelina said that she wished it hadn’t been necessary, but thought that the birth should be done in a way that was peaceful and security allowed them to accomplish that. Brad added having a baby on the way with "a bounty on its head" even before its birth made the security an imperative for them.

They said they plan to be in Namibia "just a few more days," but did not specify where they are going.  It is believed that they will be moving back to Brad’s Los Feliz, California "compound," where major renovations are being undertaken in order to babyproof the joint for Shiloh, Zahara, 16 months, and Maddox, 4 1/2.

Angelina made a statement regarding future wedding plans, saying, "There is nothing in the air.  The focus is on the kids, and we are obviously extremely committed to the children and as parents together.  So that kind of says it for us, and to have a ceremony on top of it is nothing."

Watch this video of the couple where they talk about Shiloh having dual citizenship and future plans to visit the country of their daughter’s birth.

Your link brings me to a preview trailer for the Devil Wears Prada… so unless they gave birth the either Meryl Streep or Lindsay Lohan…I’d guess this is the wrong link…

I hope that Brad sticks in there for her! He seems to have undergone such a radical change ie: taken on a lot of Angelina’s values/causes and I would hate to see him leave her! I think she has changed him for the better and I think they could make a difference to the world and to the plight of millions of babies that do die each day!

She is the hottest woman alive. Wow.

As much as I DON’T like Angelina OR Brad (I don’t like what they did to JA!!), they really ARE good people. There’s no denying it whatsoever. I’m glad that he finally found someone to make him happy and that shares the same interests. Shiloh is a gorgeous baby!! I wish them both the best of luck.

Dazzlar — She didn’t change him. He’s always wanted to change the world. I don’t think a lot of people knew that because his past relationship out shadowed his charity work.

I’m hopelessly hooked. I love this couple. *sigh*

and people think they’re such private people! anyone who calls a press conference to announce pictures of their child, is a media whore!

- MuffThumb on

I, too, love this couple even though I don’t think they’ll last forever. There are celebrity couples who don’t ever look happy together, so I enjoy watching one who is. (I also think the public’s mourning JA’s divorce more than she is.)

I’d like to see what Shiloh looks like in a few months. Newborns all look similarly smushy to me.

Angelina is always looking so effortlessly gorgeous. Even 2 weeks after giving birth, she looks like she just got off a relaxing vacation! They are not my favorite couple, but I am mezmorized by them for some reason!

God I love them =) I’m really glad they took time to thank Namibia – just shows how wonderful they are =)

The circumstances in which they started their relationship may not have been the best (then again, we don’t know the whole story), but by all appearances, these 2 seem genuinely happy.

While statistics aren’t exactly favorable for celeb relationships, maybe not getting married will be the answer for them?

They seem very committed to their kids, and I have a feeling they will have a bunch more. I bet it wont be long before they adopt or get pregnant again!

I wish them the best. It would be nice to see them stay together. 8)

Whoever typed this said

“See her nursing bra “AGAIN”
When did she show it before?
Wasn’t that a Katie mishap?

- NoseyParker on

MuffThumb,
Where did you get the information that the press conference was to announce the sale of the baby pictures? CBB didn’t post that nor did CNN or MSNBC. The press conference was to thank the Namibian people and government for being kind hosts. Only Namibian journalists were allowed to attend but something tells me you don’t like Brad & Angie so the real reason for the press conference really doesn’t matter to you. *sigh*

The first photo of her bra strap showing is the photo of her, Brad and Shiloh.

Angie is just glowing all over the place. Brad looks good too. I like when his hair is cut short like that. It works for him. :)

I love their little family. They just click to me. ♥

I actually have no problem with Brad OR Angelina. what I have a problem with is the double standard. you just proved my point. when tom cruise had to do a press conference for WOTW last summer, he was asked about his engagament to Katie Holmes. he answered honestly, and next thing you know, you’ve got people saying he called the press conference for the SOLE PURPOSE of announcing his engagement. but no one would ever say that about the Pitt-Jolie’s because they are perfect!

I just hate the double standard.

- MuffThumb on

Yeah that’s true MuffThumb about the double standard. At the time when Tom was doing the press conference for WOTW, the rest of the (gossipy) press made it seem like he only called the press conference to talk about his engagement to Katie, because that’s all they focused on in their segments on ET or E! whatever.

As far as the bra strap incidences between Angelina and Katie, whatever was seen on Angelina is mostly just the shoulder strap and doesn’t look that unusual compared to most other nursing mothers her age, even in public. Katie’s incident was a bit more unfortunate because she was caught with the front cup unclipped from one breast, so she not only showed her nursing bra, but also almost over exposed herself.

Don’t blame the double standard on me. I have never been on this blog or any other blog criticizing Tom Cruise or any other celeb. You wrote:

“anyone who calls a press conference to announce pictures of their child, is a media whore!”

To me this sounds like you have a problem with them. Usually calling someone a whore isn’t a term of endearment.

And I wrote:

“The press conference was to thank the Namibian people and government for being kind hosts…”

How does this make them media whores, how am I perpetuating a double standard thus “proving your point”, and where did I write that I think Brad and Angie are perfect? I may admire them but I certainly don’t see them even close to perfect.
