Definitely – if the scans are on another blog, we would have no problem linking to them unless we are requested not to. I was just hoping we’d be able to host our own scans as we’ve done in the past, but I’m not going to put us in line to be sued.

SOMEPLACE will have them. Just probably not us, unfortunately.

Unfornuantly the pics are on a section of Getty Images that can only be accessed by publishers etc. They won’t be on the general editorial pages like other pics.

As for the other blogs publishing the scans, really they can sue all they want, once the phtotos are out people will save them and use them. The pics can be passed around by email etc. I don’t see what they can do about it, once they are in the public domain anybody can have them.

It’s great that they’re going to donate the proceeds from the photos to the charity. I like when people do that, especially when they have full ability to do so.

I’m sure everyone who wants to see the photos of Shiloh, will see them somehow. If Getty has them, then I don’t see why you can’t view them. I just want to see what the little girl looks like.

As far as other celebs following suit… I’m surprised more haven’t done it! I always found it tasteless when some celebs sell their kids pics and run with the money but greatly admire those who take the money and give it to charities. =)

Because they are only allowing one publication to publish the photo one time. If online publications publish scans, they are breaking that rule. I imagine, since Angelina already snapped up every possible Shiloh related domain name, they will be watching blogs and be suing or sending cease and desist notices to anyone who publishes them. We’ll have to wait until Wednesday to get details, I guess. Maybe they’ll say something at the press conference.

I agree Lola – I think a lot of celebrities will continue to go down this path as well. Julia Roberts had her husband take pics and donated the money, Courteney Cox Arquette donated money from the sale of Coco’s first photo…

Wow! It’s amazing that the birth of one baby, Shiloh, could end up saving the lives of many hundreds or thousands more. A lot can be done with that amount of money. I think it’s terrific that Brad and Angie, especially given how private they are, are willing to do this. My respect for them just went up tremendously!

Do they honestly expect online places to not post the photos? Once it’s in People I can’t see them expecting people not to scan the magazine. LOL I took it to mean they wouldn’t accept bids from online publications like Corbis, etc
