Donald doesn't do diapers

News06052006003 It’s been two and a half months since Barron Trump was born, and dad Donald still hasn’t changed a diaper. Why? Apparently Melania "likes to do it." Donald says that "I would love to change him! But Melania probably wouldn’t let me. I’d just do it wrong," to which Melania agrees, saying that Donald would most likely put the diaper on upside down! Although Barron is Donald’s fifth child, he says he cannot remember ever changing a diaper for any of his children.

Another thing Donald cannot remember is his son’s age! When asked by the NY Post, Donald tells them that Barron is 8 weeks, but is sharply corrected by both Melania and the nanny, who tell him that his son is in fact 10 weeks old.

Donald does do morning duty though (apparently after the diaper is changed)! He takes Barron at 6 am and reads to him from the newspapers, or they watch the Today show together for some father-son bonding time. Luckily, Barron is an easy baby. Says Donald, "He’s a cool cucumber…He’s got his mother’s personality."

Donald seems like such a JERK! i dont know how Melania married him, and gave him a child! first he “didnt think he was needed” in the delivery room, now he wont change a diaper?

I would kick him to the curb! he doesnt seem very supportive!

- MuffThumb on

Melania has always said that she didn’t want Donald in the delivery room because she believes fathers don’t belong there, so I don’t think Donald refused to be there with her.

Melania has always seemed to be a very strong and independent woman so I personally don’t feel sorry for her. I can’t see her putting up with any crap from Donald so I don’t think people should jump to conclusions about things. LOL

Ohhh, I so badly want to speak my mind right now, but I can’t, it’s against CBB rules. I need to be nice. 8)

Let’s just say that when I read Muff’s comment, I was thinking about money…I will leave it at that. LOL! 8)

I will be so shocked if this marriage lasts. At least Donald Trump’s other kids seem to have turned out well. I guess he must be doing something right as a dad.

- Lola on

I do agree with you, gargoylegurl. As much as I think Melania is a great woman I have no doubt that is a factor. LOL

As Lola said, I’d be shocked if it lasts =P

But I do respect Melania – she seems like a lovely, strong and independent woman. =)

I think Melania is the one “in charge” of the relationship. She’s intelligent, independant, and the silent strength behind them. She seems like a loving mother.
I find it funny that Donald doesn’t think he’s every changed a diaper. He’s so wrapped up in himself.

The man is an ass.
Real men change diapers!

- wildviolette on

I agree with you Erin. Melania does seem like a lovely lady and a very good mommy. 8)

I’m not the biggest Donald fan. As Lorus said, he does seem a little wrapped up in himself.

Traditional parenting roles are fine by me, if that’s what a couple agrees to. But I get the feeling that Melania is defending Donald regarding the diaper and labor room thing, because really, what else is she going to say? I guess it’s only normal that she would defend her husband. I can’t help but wonder if deep down it does bother her that he has not/will not change a diaper.

In my opinion, there is something so sexy about a man that gets “stuck in” & “hands on” with all aspects of parenting. 8)

Oh well, I guess to each their own.

The photo posted with this article cracks me up – Barron looks just like Donald. Even down to the “constipated” look.

Argh! I can’t help it, I have to say it, I’m busting at the seams here…Donald should take a cue from his son and go with the less is more look. I’d like to see him loose the comb-over. LOL ;)

I just cannot imagine not having someone else to do diapers… I mean, come ON.

Ah well… she stays or leaves, she and baby are taken care of financially. I do hope either he or some OTHER male figure in the kids life gives the love it deserves.

- Erin on

Is this a surprise? Not to me.. I think that the fact that his other kids turned out correctly is due to their mother.

- Patty on

Hmmm, well, although I do think that Donald Trump seems far from being a half decent father, the whole thing about the diapers doesn’t really make me feel bad for her. I do the exact same thing. Lol. I never let my fiance change our daughter’s diaper because he does it wrong and it irritates me. I’m such a control freak with stuff like that. lol.

Donald just seems so funny, albeit a bit stuffy at times. I don’t think he’s a bad father, but I think at times he’s barely making it by the skin of his neck with being a dutiful man around the house. He’s been spoiled for too long to know what to do. But he could always learn. Practice makes perfect.

I’ll just say I won’t doubt his love for his children.

It seems like he lets Melania wear both pants when it comes to their infant son. LOL.

But Barron is adorable in the photo included. :)

Quel surprise!

Mommy1- I hear you. My husband occasionally changed diapers, but I always secretly checked (and repaired) his work. Same thing with packing diaper bags and putting the kids in their carseats. It’s not that the intention isn’t there, it’s just I feel like it’s not done right unless I do it. I know it sounds bad to say, but it’s true.

- spindoctor on

I don’t see why men can’t change diapers and why some are so afraid to do it! I mean it’s not a big deal. However I know many dads who just don’t do diapers and if I were their wives I’d be saying different!

- joy on

(I cannot believe I’m going to defend Donald Trump)

I believe Donald’s from the generation and Meliana’s from a culture where the fathers didn’t help out with babies. My father was like that with us, and I’d hardly consider him an ass. :)

But Donald taking the baby in the mornings for a little bit of time is probably more than what he did with Ivana’s kids.

So why is Donald poked at for not helping more, but Meliana’s not poked at for having a nanny when she could absolutely be a full-time stay at home mom? (And his other kids turning out okay probably had to do with Ivana’s nanny and Marla’s nanny as well)
