Federline kids to work at Taco Bell

06/01/2006 at 04:38 PM ET

Kfed1 The title is a bit misleading of course, but Kevin Federline is trying to say that he wants his children to be normal and, like everyone else, work for their money! In an interview with Item Magazine that will be out on June 5th, Kevin cleans up and speaks up. Some highlights:

-He feels he can’t win with his public image: "I should just put a bulls-eye on my back. If I stay home and take care of my wife and my kids, then I’m a loafer, not a good father. If I try to have a career, nobody thinks I am caring for my family. I can’t win."

-He wants his kids to experience as normal a life as possible: "It’s completely unfair when a child is brought into this world an now he’s already looked at like a prince. My kids are going to have to learn what a real job is, what life is. You don’t have it easy with me. Period….My kids are going to work at Taco Bell, dammit."

Britney and the kids are "his pride and joy."

I do think it’s unfair but please I do hope that they don’t work at Taco Bell though it’s probably just a figure of speech but still.lol.

He seems like a good father and cleaned up very nicely.

Wow that doesn’t even look like him, he looks older!!!

Jim Turner on

That’s because he will spend all of Brit’s money before they can get to it.

I get so tired of the K-Fed haters. What do we really know about him or his marriage to Britney – nothing! So he doesn’t dress the best, so what?

For all we know, he may be a very loving father and husband. Just because he isn’t as rich & successful as Britney does not necessarily make him a loser.

There’s a total double standard – if we were talking about a male celeb married to a less successful woman, no one would bat an eye, but because he’s male some people think this somehow makes him less of a husband and father.

For the sake of Sean and #2, I hope they don’t have to work at Taco Bell (like Shar’s kids may have to someday) however I do imagine them having some sort of jobs someday.

K-Fed probably is an alright guy most of the time, so maybe if he keeps up his new look it would help some opinions.

I’m odd woman out, But I dont like him cleaned up. I’m usually all for the squeaky clean guys, but with Kevin, I like him the way we see him normally. He’s hot!

and I think it’s great that he wants his children to experience work, and make something of themselves. I also think he seems like a good father, good father, and pretty good guy. i wish people would go easier on him!

In a couple years he’ll be working at Taco Bell, I’m sure of it.

i agree..we dont know K-Fed personally so we shouldn’t make assumptions. I really think he’s trying to be the best hubby and father he can be. He just needs to be given a chance to show the world he’s not as bad as the media portrays to be.

Mommyx1 on

Holy crap! That looks NOTHING like him at all. Shocking.

Is that a Thomas Pink shirt and tie I’m seeing on his body? Is that a vintage Jaeger Le Coultre watch on his wrist? This is the most refined I have ever seen the man look. Despite his attire, his actions are still bothersome. I have a difficult time stomaching how he abandoned Shar during her pregnancy to court Britney. He should be roommates with Billy Crudup.

Erica on

I am in complete agreement with landroverdisco. No matter how badly the media may or may not portray him, there is no denying that he dumped his heavily pregnant partner to be with Britney Spears.

That in itself says a lot about him, I think.

I think that there is nothing wrong with Kevin wanting his kids to work when they grow up. He should however practice more of what he preaches. Also what is wrong with people working at Taco Bell, any job is better than no job.

There’s nothing wrong with teens working at Taco Bell for awhile when they’re young, and if Britney wasn’t famous then her kids working there someday wouldn’t be a big deal. It’s just that Britney being who she is right now, if her kids did work at TB, then the press would have a field day with comments like “Look what Brit’s kids have been reduced to…” and it’d be too easy to be harassed by press if they work in the public like that. (Of course in 15 yrs or so, Britney could be reduced to a ‘Tiffany’ so no one would care where her kids work.)

Anyway what I hope is that Sean & #2 get more of an education than either of their parents have so that they can make something of themselves without having to work fast food or live off their mother’s money.

At the moment, Britney has more than enough money to pay for college for both of her kids. (I just hope she has someone around her helping her try to save some of what she has, so that she doesn’t have to file bankrupcy in a few years.)

The one thing I do know about Kfed is that he left his other pregnant girlfriend at 7 months to be with Britney, and why? Because Britney had a better career and more money!!

I have no respect for him just like I have no respect for Britney. I judge based on things I see and hear and yeah they may not all be based on true facts but I make assumptions but what I’m given.

I see nothing wrong w/ anyone that just physically works. It could be McDonalds, Burger King or a Gas Station. A job is a job and if your doing something that’s productive instead of sitting on your ass then that’s what matters!

As far as Kfed though, his children will all be plenty taken care of by their mama’s. I just hope this guy doesn’t leave Britney bc now she’s approaching 7 months w/ baby #2. If I was her I’d be scared!

I have mixed feelings on KFed. He is a very nice looking guy when he cleans up. It doesn’t bother me about him leaving Shar, we have NO IDEA what their relationship was like at all. She could be a real bitch!! We just don’t know. I think he can’t win no matter what, like he says. So as I have said before, live and let live. They are people. They are human. I don’t “judge” people by what I see in the media, just like I don’t judge people in person by looking at them. I think it is wrong to be judgmental of anyone. Celeb or not. But, to each his own and it won’t matter what anyone says…there will always be Britney haters and KFed haters no matter what they do!

funny interview. does he really think that anyone would be interested in him, positively or negatively, if he wasn’t mr. britney spears? he forgets which side his bread is buttered.

as for criticizing spouses — sure happens to wives of male celebs all the time. Linda McCartney, Yoko Ono (wife of John Lennon) just to name a couple of older examples.

gargoylegurl on

Linda McCartney and Yoko Ono were criticized because they were sometimes deemed to be outspoken & opinionated, particularly on controversial topics. I don’t believe they have ever really been criticized as mothers or wives because they were not as successful as their spouses.

Nick Cage is married to a gal that was a waitress. Matt Damon’s wife worked in a bar. Do people keep accusing them of being gold diggers and dead beat moms? I haven’t heard it.

In my opinion, it’s a double standard.

brave on

Nope, wives were/are not expected to support their families. Men who don’t support their wives or contribute to family economics tend to be criticised for that.

But in this case, I disagree: both women were criticised all the time for their lifestyles, choices, etc. Both were criticised for singing with their husbands and other self-expression even tho Yoko was an artist long before she met John and Linda had a career of sorts as a photographer. Both were also criticised for their fashion choices, etc. All documented in the film Wingspan. But both women actually came from wealthy families and both increased their family’s fortunes through their own work.

Federline brings criticism through his own behavior. If he sat at home, I doubt anyone would care.

gargoylegurl on

I disagree.

Besides, while Kevin doesn’t make anywhere near the money that Brit does, he is earning *some* money ($20,000 just for showing up & performing 2-3 songs at clubs). I could go on with more details (as per a recent People Mag article regarding his earnings) but I had better not because it’s getting off topic and I don’t want to get booted from CBB.

Peace out…8)
