YES! A GIRL!

I can’t wait. This baby is going to be so beautiful. I just HOPE they’ll give it a more traditional name! Hope everything goes well!

wait…..wasn’t there a “reliable” source months ago saying it was a BOY?!

I don’t know how much of these “reliable” sources are true. The same sources who said the Tomkitten was a boy! But I’ll wait for the birth to know for sure!! :)

ET announced Friday that their doctor was in Namibia. ;-)

I think it’s a boy for some reason although I’ve been hoping for a girl since the beginning. =P

As far as a name… I like David for a boy =) If they do want a African name, how about Cairo? I personally think it’s adorable. =)

I dont know about this. Wasn’t Angelina quoted going on and on like a first timer about a natural, intervention-free delivery?

I mean, plans change, but this seems like a 180. Maybe she has since found out about something that would mean c-section, but I don’t think this is true.

I wonder why Angelina has a c-section planned? Perhaps she has a medical condition that necessitates it, but it does seem like some celebs choose to deliver this was for non-medical reasons, and that doesn’t seem right to me. Britney Spears has made no secret of the fact that she had a c-section because she was afraid of the pain associated with vaginal labor.

Speaking as someone who had to have a c-section for medical reasons, I can tell you there was plenty of pain and discomfort afterward!

I wish I could have delivered my son vaginally, I feel like I missed out by having a c-section. I guess I just don’t understand why anyone would chose to have major surgery over a natural delivery?

Regardless, I hope everything goes smoothly for Angelina and I wish her and Brad the best. 8)

I’ll take the guesses about the gender of baby Jolie-Pitt with a grain of salt until it’s actually born.

As far as the supposed c-section, I’m a bit surprised, although I suppose that despite all of her daring do in the past (as mainly Lora Croft, etc.) Angelina could be scared to give birth naturally.

I’d imagined that going to Africa to give birth would’ve meant doing it ‘a natural in “Mother Africa” in much the same way that the refugees Angelina has helped have done (and probably how Zahara was born), however even Ange could panic a bit this late in her pregnancy when she realises that she’s going to have to push this kid out now and yeah there’s going to be a lot of pain.

There are so many reliable sources. Someone at one of the fan forums posts that their “reliable source” says its a boy and that the baby is due the last week of May/first week of June. LOL

Either way the baby will be loved.

I’m crossing my fingers hoping it is a girl! I remember hearing how Brad said he would like girls and I think that is really sweet so I hope that happens for them! I think this baby is going to be gorgeous! I can’t wait to find out! :) I am so excited! All the sources seem to be unreliable-I remember when US magazine had Katie Holmes on the cover with IT’S A BOY! and also with Angelina saying IT’S A BOY! while ET and people have said that Angelina is expecting a girl….so I am not sure-I know I am super excited to see what it is and find out the name! :)

I’m hoping for a girl myself. :)

BRAD AND ANGE ASK NAMIBIAN GOVERNOR TO NAME BABY

BRAD PITT and ANGELINA JOLIE will let Namibian politician SAMUEL NUUYOMA name their new baby, according to the latest US reports.

Samuel, the Governor of the country’s Erongo region, has become a close personal friend of the couple and was among those who arranged for the movie stars to find a safe haven in Africa as they prepared for the impending birth of their first child together.

According to American publication In Touch, Samuel will stage a news conference on Friday to announce his part in the christening. The announcement has prompted many to believe Angelina has already given birth. The magazine explains that local custom will prompt Samuel to visit Angelina when she goes into labour and officially name the baby.

Meanwhile, Brad apologised to the organisers of the Cannes Film Festival for not being able to attend the premiere of his new movie BABEL last night, saying: “With the imminent arrival of the newest addition to our family, I’m unable to join Alejandro, Cate, and Gael Garcia Bernal and the rest of the cast and crew in introducing the film.”

Could be lots of reasons why she chose/has to have a c-section. She could be too small, the baby could be too big, the baby could be breech, etc. My first daughter was footling breech, and things were too uncertain to try to turn her. So unless she turned on her own, it would be a c-section, and it was! Angelina is pretty thin, maybe her pelvis doesn’t allow for a big baby, which it may have been determined to be.

Let me give my two cents….I had 2 c sections, the second was my choice, then my third was a natural delivery. I would do the natural delivery again in a heartbeat. While the pain may be more intense right then, during the labor, it is gone pretty fast. The surgery takes weeks and weeks to recover from. My last c section was 8 years ago, and I still don’t have feeling from my belly button down to the incision. Things are never the same!

Best of luck to her, I’m sure she has made the choice that is right for her and her family.

Can’t wait to hear the news! :)

Ooh, I hope she’s not electing for a C-section. She’s quite a bit younger than I am, so she should recover sooner, but I had an emergency C-section last July with my daughter, and it was NO fun, let me tell you. I also lost so much blood they had to give me a transfusion, which is also not good. So, here’s hoping she will neither elect to have one nor need to have one. Wishing them the best.

I believe Angie will opt for a vaginal birth, as long as there aren’t any medical reasons that she can’t.
She’s not the type for “c-sections by fashion”.
Now, I understand that a c-section is sometimes necessary for medical reasons and that is perfectly all right but now there are so many celebs that’ve had one lately. It seems everybody’s having one. It’s just insane.

Good luck to Brangelina & family!

kristen on

if a woman has truly, truly weighed the risks of a major abdominal surgery to her and that delivery for her baby and decided that is what she wants for herself and her child, then it is her choice.

but I really hope angie isn’t opting for an elective c-section. The c-sections rates are climbing so high, it’s scary :(
