Alison Sweeney on the challenges of being a working mom
Actress Alison Sweeney, famous for playing the infamous Sami Brady on Days of our Lives, says her role as mom is her first priority.
Giving birth to her son Ben, now 15 months, was the "biggest change of my life… Everything I do is geared toward making his life better."
She also acknowledged that trying to find a balance between her 12-hour work days and spending time with her family is difficult – and that bringing Ben to work has helped immensely.
"I never feel like I have enough time with my son, and it kills me. I have days off during the week sometimes so you could argue I have a really nice schedule. Also I’m allowed to bring Ben to the set sometimes, and I am lucky for that. It’s awesome."
When asked if she and her husband Dave will have more kids, Alison said "definitely. I got pretty emotional [during my first pregnancy]. I’d sometimes have moments of emotional upheaval and then I’d be fine for two weeks and then I’d have another breakdown. The lesson [I learned] was not to do anything drastic while pregnant."
