Madonna: "I'm a crap mom"

05/17/2006 at 11:35 AM ET

Storymadonna She is an international super star, a show girl, an excellent business woman, but she is also a mother, and according to her, ‘a crap one’. Madonna talked to designer Isaac Mizrahi for E! Entertainment and confessed that she considers herself a ‘crap mother’ because when she is out working she wants to be at home putting her kids to bed and when she is home doing that, she wants to go out and be an artist again.

Madonna also talked about her daughter’s reaction and opinion on having a superstar mother. She said that sometimes Lourdes, 9, doesn’t want her mom at some events because "she knows everyone is going to pay attention to me and then they’ll treat her differently". Apparently on Lourdes first day last year, Madonna took her to school and then she came home "irritated and bummed out, like people were playing this contest – what would it be like to be Madonna’s daughter."

Mom Said It

"We weren't trying to have kids. We left it up to fate. I knew there was a possibility, but I was really excited. Even if you are trying, just to see a positive result is shocking!"
