Olympic athletes welcome first child

569039ax 5071367_135x180_1 Skating with Celebrities host and Olympic swimmer Summer Sanders, 33, and her husband, Olympic skier Erik Schlopy, welcomed their first child on April 21st. The new baby girl is named Skye Bella. She arrived at 12:42 am after 40 hours of labor, and weighed in at 7 lbs, 7 oz, and 20 inches long.

Says Summer, “What a special day April 21st turned out to be…Not only was it my dad’s , but our little girl entered the world. Mom, dad and baby Skye are happy, healthy and loving life."

Hopefully, she gets moms last name and won’t be stuck w/ Skye Schlopy as her moniker.

I remember when Summer swam in the Olympics about a decade or so ago. (Did she win her golds at Barcelona ’92 or Atlanta ’96?) Plus sharing seasonal names, and being close in age (although I though Summer was closer to 30, but maybe she is 33?), yeah I remember her! lol!

Anyway that’s cool she and her husband had their baby. When she was co-hosting “Skating With The Stars” you could hardly tell she was pregnant, but that was probably because the show was filmed in October.

Who knows her daughter could be Skye Schlopy, but she’ll just have to live with it until she grows up or something? lol

Congrats to Summer and Erik on the birth of ther daughter! :)
