Eva Longoria wants her future children to play in the dirt

050326102147evalongoria Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria has gained more popularity from her relationship with San Antonio Spurs player Tony Parker than from her popular ABC show.  So it is no surprised that along with promoting her new film The Sentinel, the star spent part of an interview sharing her hopes for marriage and motherhood.

"I want to do the whole domestic thing… I want to be married and have children. I really look forward to having kids."

Eva’s character on DH, Gabrielle Solis, just became a mother to a baby girl named Lilly.  The star says that while Gabrielle may not be all that maternal, she herself will be more hands-on in her mothering approaches.

"She’s not your typical mama! Gabrielle won’t change diapers, but there are a few heartfelt moments coming up," Eva says.  "Unlike my character, I’ll be a normal mother.  I’ll let my kids play in the dirt just like like I did as a kid."

But hopefully the star won’t pass on all of her childhood traditions.  Eva, a self-proclaimed Texas tomboy growing up, was taught shooting by her father as a child.

"We used to go target-shooting all the time, shooting coffee cans and anything that exploded and made noise," Eva says.

What is wrong with shooting lessons?

- Sabrelexi on

I agree with Sabrelexi. I’m a TX girl and I learned to shoot when I was growing up but that’s not to say that all TX girls do that. My bros and I were given a BB gun when I was 9. My dad prefered that we learned how to handle guns properly through his instruction rather than learn on our own.

I don’t know, maybe Nisha will answer…?
