Angelina Jolie talks about Brad, their children, and when she's due

As we reported yesterday, Angelina Jolie’s exclusive interview with Ann Curry will air this Sunday on Dateline NBC.   Excerpts were released in advance, and Angelina opens up for the first time about her relationship with Brad Pitt and talks about their stay in Namibia and their children, Maddox, 4, and Zahara, 1.

She confirms she is not quite eight months pregnant and says that they know the sex of the baby but won’t share it publicly.

Angelina agreed to give the interview to highlight causes that are close to her heart, especially educational opportunities for children.  She also spoke with great pride about her own children.

She said that Zahara "is so smart and so strong. And her potential as a woman one day is great.  Hopefully, she will be active in her country and in her continent when she’s older. And because she’ll have a good education, she’ll be able to do that much more."

Through Maddox’s experiences traveling the world, Angelina said that it has allowed her to see how "he adjusts to different places in the world and different people and his views and the kind of man he’s going to be. I’m very lucky."

For the first time, she also spoke about her relationship with Brad and said that it’s something they never actually discuss.  "It’s one of those funny things that just happens, and you live your life, and you’re a family."

I think she is just uncomfortable with the public knowing too much about her love life-especially after the way she reacted with Billy Bob Thornton-how she flaunted it and made such a fool of herself in public with him-so I am thinking she has a little more humility now and understands how to behave as far as her relationships go. I think her answers were fine. I am also going to say that I think she is having a boy despite the recent shopping extravaganza she went on buying lots of little baby girl things, because in this interview she mentions:

“I just think, especially my daughter, there’s no possible way she would have gone to school. She is so smart and so strong. And her potential as a woman one day is great,” she says.

She goes on to say: “My life is very full. I’m very proud when I see my children – already Mad, just how he adjusts to different places in the world and different people and his views and the kind of man he’s going to be. I’m very lucky.”

The way she mentions her daughter made me think that her daughter is SINGULAR and there won’t be another daughter-at least not with this pregnancy. That is the vibe I got-but I could just be having a flakey MEDIUM moment or something. lol. anyways, I am guessing Boy still-but crossing my fingers for a girl.

I also think that she’s being more private because she’s got kids… when she was all flaunting it with billy bob there were no kids in all the pics with them.

now that she’s a mom, she’s being more adult and more private to keep her personal life personal.

I think she’s a great hands-on mom and admire her for all the work she’s doing

I agree that she learned her lesson the hard way with her previous very public, very over the top relationships. I think she is just trying to handle this differently and learn from her past mistakes, especially for the sake of her children. I find it interesting that she has done a complete turn about and it much more private now, and Tom Cruise on the other hand, used to be private and now he is very public and over the top…

I also agree that she’s trying to be private after being young and foolish and over-exhibitive, and I’d like to point out that whatever she says will be dissected every which way for any and all purposes especially by anyone who sees her as a homewrecker, so I can understand that she’d rather not give any specifics; the poor woman is hounded enough as it is. Personally, I would rather see AJ be somewhat inarticulate to the press about her relationship with Brad Pitt and be very articulate about her charity work, and I would rather not see Tom Cruise be very articulate about his sex life and his proselytizing (not that he particularly is anyway, but you know what I mean).

Oh I like her!! I don’t care if she “lured” Brad away etc etc. I don’t for one second believe she is insincere about her desire to bring awareness to causes in the world! I also don’t believe she would EVER exploit her personal life to promote her latest movie/project! I think she was so touched by what she saw when she was filming the first Lara Croft movie that she changed forever after that. If even one tiny bit rubs off on Brad, who has always seemed very superficial, then how fantastic!! What we really need is the people with the power and money to start changing the injustices!!

I’m glad she has finally matured into the woman she is today. However, this is an Angelina posting so I am a bit confused as to why Tom Cruise is even mentioned. And it is a bit unfair to compare the two. Sure they can both be over the top. Tom likes to jump on couches and profess his love, talk about psychiatry, etc. but Angelina’s over-the-top moments include making out with her brother and carrying other people’s blood as a necklace just to name a few. It makes Tom’s weirdness almost bland. So she is very private and Tom isn’t now. Big deal.

She’s doing great work now and wish her all the happiness with her new family.

I did see part of the interview on the Today show and I think she’s very well spoken esp. when it comes to the children of other countries. You can see the joy in her eyes when she talks about her kids and you can also see that she really does look happy. I loved how she got the “giggles” and said it’s my “hormones” lol it was cute.

I was thinking it was a girl but I got the same vibe for some reason that it may be a boy. I guess we’ll see and I assume that means she’s due more by the end of may early june rather then US weekly’s May 2 due date.

I think I am really anticipating this baby’s arrival and I don’t even know them lol. For some reason I am dying to see this kid, find out it’s name, gender etc. And I’m not even a huge fan of Bradgelina.
