Mariska Hargitay fears post-partum baby fat

Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay is due to give birth in June and is reportedly already coming up with a plan to tackle her post partum baby fat.

"I’m going to hit the treadmill as soon as I can after the baby is born," Mariska reportedly told a friend during a recent lunch outing. "If Denise Richards and Heidi Klum did it, I can too!"

She added, "I have a lot of respect for all the working celebrities who have done it."

One of Mariska’s former co-stars say the actress has nothing to worry about.

"She’s eating for two and still looks unbelievable," Stephanie March  said (she played  SVU’s ADA Alexandra Cabot for seasons 2-4 and can be currently seen on Conviction).

Mariska and hubby, actor Peter Hermann, are expecting their son on June 21st.

Why does a little baby fat matter?? For God sakes women carry a human being in their body for 9 months!! I know that she didn’t mean it in an obsessive way, but embrace the change in your body…stick thin women don’t look good anyways.

she looks great anyways! I am sure she will be fine when the baby is born and will shed the weight in a healthy and efficient way. I am excited though that her baby is due on my birthday!!! June 21st is the longest day of the year, so it’s a great day to be born! haha.

I guess she’s just worried just like any other mother about getting back into shape. And maybe it has to do with her age and how she might feel that’s going to hinder her progress somehow, her working schedule and such. But she looks great, pregnancy weight and all.

I’m sure things will be fine. I still can’t wait for the baby to get here.

She also has great genes…Her mom Jayne Mansfield had a total of 5 children & always looked fantastic!

“stick-thin women don’t look good anyways”….
That’s kind of a harsh thing to say to naturally thin women isn’t it?
I think being healthy and in shape is what she strives for and she will try to shed the weight as soon as she can. The fact that her mom looked fantastic after so many kids is probably adding a little bit to the pressure she is already feeling about being able to get back in shape at her age.
