Katie Holmes and baby Suri Cruise home

Katie Holmes, baby Suri and Tom Cruise came home to Tom’s Beverly Hills estate, within 24 hours of the birth Tuesday at St. John’s Hospital in Los Angeles.

A spokesman for the couple added, "The baby is happy and healthy. Katie is doing great. Everything is fantastic."

According to a source quote by People, Suri "has lots of dark hair and big, blue eyes. She’s going to be a beautiful baby." One of Katie’s sisters told the Toledo Blade, Katie’s hometown paper, "The family is absolutely ecstatic. Everyone’s healthy, and we are extremely happy."

ABC’s Diane Sawyer, who just interviewed Tom on Primetime Live, said Tom emailed her saying that Suri was "glorious" and saying Katie was "an absolute champ."

Katie’s parents were in Florida on vacation at the time of Suri’s birth. After being told that she had a new granddaughter, Katie’s mom Kathy said, "We have a sweet baby girl!"

Good for her on the epidural! Though I am surprised her mother wasn’t there for the birth. Mega Bucks Tom better set her up w/ a personal trainer and post baby makeover works!

Hate to say it but I don’t think newborns are particularly “cute” either. They’re cute in the sense that they’re tiny and soooo sweet and it’s extremely emotional. But I love babies when they start getting their personality and their faces change to complement that, usually after 6 months or so. I’m sure the day I have my own I will look at the baby and think it is the positively “cutest” baby in the whole world though!!lol…

I agree that newborns aren’t exactly the cutest things, lol. I remember when my son was born, I thought he was simply gorgeous and the cutest newborn I’d ever seen. But I look back at those pictures now and to be honest, they’re a little scary, lol! He is SO much cuter now.

I guess it is a matter of opinion. I think newborns are generally speaking definitely adorable. Some are definitely more so than other though. Some people really prefer babies when they get a bit bigger though. To each his own I guess.

I do think it is a bit strange that Katie’s family wasn’t around for the birth. Seems like they would have wanted to be around for the birth. Strange.
