Tom Cruise's Placenta Polenta

In his Primetime Live interview last week, Tom Cruise told Diane Sawyer, "I’m going to eat the placenta. I thought that would be good. Very nutritious. I’m going to eat the cord and the placenta right there."  I really thought he was kidding but just in case, my friend Adam, aka the Amateur Gourmet, has a recipe for Tom Cruise’s Placenta Polenta.  Beware- there’s a photo of a placenta…

I didn’t see it so I couldn’t say whether he was or not but to even say it – to me IN my own personal opinion (wouldn’t want to offend anyone) that’s just sick and disgusting! Someone get this guys head checked to make sure it’s ripe enough to even care for a child!

Yes he was only joking. LOL

I beieve he actually said it during his GQ interview and he later clarified that it was strictly a joke on Primetime. I could be wrong since I never read his interview and didn’t watch the full Primetime interview. LOL

But no, it was a joke. I read somewhere that it was clearly stated in his interview that it was a joke.

Actually, he didn’t bring it up as a joke, Diane Sawyer specifically asked him, and he played along for a sec before saying no way they were planning to do that. Even though I think he’s a little kooky with some of his actions over the last year, people give him such a hard time and he actually is pretty laid back about it.

I think at this point Tom doesn’t care what he says. No matter what people are going to blow his comments out of porportion and manipulate it (ie: silent birth) to make him look bad, or insane, which I don’t think he is.

Just my opinion, though.

I agree with all of the above comments, but I just don’t think he has helped the situation. Tom went from being an intensely private person to being the total opposite, so I think that’s part of what seems so strange about his behavior. He may just be so happy that it’s made him giddy? That, or maybe he is ill mentally ill? 8)

As if he was seen as being crazy enough, he had to go and utter that nonsense. It’s nasty as a joke or even as something he might’ve been seriously about. It’s just nasty…blech…

in some cultures, it is tradition.

in others, they bury it and plant a tree.

but the idea of eating that to me is as bad as eating liver, which I hate… though others enjoy it.

I would hope that he would bank the cord blood, personally.
