Stephen Colbert welcomes son (who is an eagle by the way)

The Colbert Report’s Stephen Colbert welcomed Stephen Jr., his eagle/son, on Monday, April 17th (Patriot’s Day, he’s proud to say).  Stephen Jr. weighed three ounces and has a wingspan of four and 3/4 inches and was born at the San Francisco Zoo.

Stephen gave Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes a "wag of the finger" for trying to steal his baby’s thunder by having their daughter Suri born the day after his son. He then tried to one-up them by eating Stephen Jr’s "placenta" on air (playing on Tom’s joke that he planned to eat Katie’s placenta.)
