Nursing pads and celebrity moms

03/27/2006 at 10:00 AM ET

Lilypadz Product Update: They seem to be Lilypadz, which work by pushing the nipple in and apply gentle pressure to stop milk flow.   Danielle uses them and says they do work to an extent.  (Sometimes they leak.)

CBB Reader Melissa wrote to us after the Oscars, wondering how celebrity nursing moms are able to wear amazing gowns to big events like the Oscars and Golden Globes. "Not only are some of the dresses revealing, but the material certainly wouldn’t mask a nursing pad.  What are these stars using to prevent leaks?" Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to what these celebrity moms might be using?

LilyPadz are very discreet. They are made of silicone and will even stay in place without a bra. They work by preventing leaks.

Yes, definitely Lilypadz. They’re kind of like pasties, and would both stop leaking and prevent nipple show-through.

They also let you sleep at night with no bra on and no leaking.

"We weren't trying to have kids. We left it up to fate. I knew there was a possibility, but I was really excited. Even if you are trying, just to see a positive result is shocking!"
