Rocker expecting first child – and it's a girl!

Update: Dave has revealed to MTV Europe that baby Grohl is a little girl! Dave says he and Jordyn are calling their daughter "The Karate Kid" because of her womb acrobatics:

All I know is right now my baby is one of the most hyperactive children. I mean, she’s not born, but I don’t even have to feel my wife’s stomach anymore. I just have to watch her shirt.

January 11th:We originally posted this in September but since I’ve gotten a few emails about it from readers the last few days, I decided to bump up the post. Foo drummer Taylor Hawkins let it "slip" that the band needs to be back from tour by March because "Dave and his wife are having a baby…But I probably wasn’t supposed to tell you that."

That’s sooooo awesome! I’ve been in LOVE with Dave for years…I’m finally getting to see Foo Fighters next month. Hey, I LOVE Dave, I LOOOOOVE babies, and I live right down the street from Dave’s house in Virginia….wonder if they’ll need a babysitter…haha

Oh my gosh, she’s absolutely gorgeous! Congrats to the two of them. So many couples having their first child this year and next year…. it’s like a boom or something.

I’m sure you were clear enough, Sarah I live in Tx, where winter occurs between Thanksgiving and New Years Day, so I assumed that the baby was due at the end of 2005. That said, Jordyn hs been SO good for him, he’s really settled down since they got married. I think they’ll have a girl!
