Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe announce split

After eight years of marriage, Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe have split up.  In a statement released today, their publicist announced, "Hilary and Chad have decided to separate but they are hopeful they’ll be able to get through this tough time."  It seemed like only yesterday that we reported that Hilary,31, said that she was looking forward to having children with Chad, 37.

After meeting in 1992, Chad and Hilary were married on Sept. 28, 1997.  Despite Celebrity Baby Blog PregWatchers’ hopes, they have no children. "(Hilary and I) are very eager to have kids, and having parrots is great baby training," Chad had said.  No word on who will get custody of their two parrots: Angel and Seuss. 

People started whispered that her failure to acknowledge him when she won her first Oscar for Boys Don’t Cry could have been an indication of trouble rather than forgetfulness.

Hilary has been featured in such films as the controversial Boys Don’t Cry, Million Dollar Baby and the upcoming The Black Dahlia. While Chad has been featured on several TV shows such as Life Goes On, Medium, ER, Without A Trace and CSI: Miami.

Being that the Oscar acceptance speech for ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ was six years ago, I seriously don’t think this was an indication of anything, especially since she did thank him when she won for ‘Million Dollar Baby’. If there were serious problems, I’m sure they would have split before now. Still sad news, though.
