Spanish royals' Christmas card

12/26/2005 at 01:47 PM ET

Spanish_royal_xmas_cardLeonor_1The royal Spanish family’s Christmas cards featured the grandchildren of the monarchy.

The photo, which was probably shot in Madrid’s Zarzuela Palace, shows King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia with their seven grandchildren.

In the front row, from left to right, are the Infanta Elena’s two children Froilan and Victoria Federica, then the children of the Infanta Cristina – Miguel, Juan Valentin and Pablo Nicolas. Cristina’s  baby daughter Irene is held by her big brother Juan Valentin. Leonor, the first child of Crown Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia, is held by Queen Sofia.   She is also featured on her parents’ own Christmas card.

The image with the King and Queen is a photomontage because the entire family hasn’t had a chance to get together for a group shot.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
