Are Katie Holmes & Tom Cruise risking their baby's health by going to China?

Always the instigator, The National Enquirer ponders the wisdom of Katie Holmes & Tom Cruise’s trip to China because of the potential harm to their fetus by the avian flu.  Katie accompanied Tom to Shanghai on his Mission Impossible 3 shoot, but are staying at four star hotels like the Four Seasons.

The National Enquirer‘s medical expert, who has not treated Katie but has followed her pregnancy, said: "It’s not wise for Katie to take such risks. Tom has to be there for work, but she does not. She is risking the health of her unborn baby as well as her own."

Twenty million birds in China have been "destroyed" this year in order to control the avian flu epidemic that has been responsible for the deaths of 68 people in Asia.

I guess the whole TomKat thing is going to be another BritKev thing. Scrutinizing everything the girl does. Personally, no I don’t think she should have gone to China. She is heading into her 3rd trimester soon, right?? It isn’t really safe to fly or travel long distances at that point. That, besides the whole bird flu thing does disturb me. It just seems Tom cannot be without her at all. Or maybe won’t let her be without him. I really think Katie is a little brainwashed by Tom. Not saying they don’t love each other, but it is all so strange!!

ON the other hand, what kind of medical expert works for the National Enquirer??? Not a very ethical one IMO!

If we all learn just one thing from Tom Cruise, I think it should be not to comment on other people’s health decisions. I’ve been to China in high end hotels; trust me, there are no birds running through the halls. And I travelled long distances in my second trimester, as do lots of healthy mothers. Maybe she just feels it is better for her mental health to stay close to Tom. I find their whole romance weird, but I don’t think it is healthy for anyone to act like pregnant women should just stay in their own house because there is scary stuff in the world.
