Heath Ledger loves his most rewarding role… Fatherhood!

In the December 26th issue of In Touch, new father, actor Heath Ledger talks about his new baby girl, his love for fiance Michelle Williams, and how many children the two of them plan on having.

Here are a few highlights:

-Heath says that Michelle and he are meant to be, " She’s my soul mate and we couldn’t love each other any more than we do already.  We’re like two peas in a pod."

-Heath described how it felt falling for his co-star, " It was new experience for me.  But it was quite nice to come home after a day of work, snap out of character and spend time with someone I really care about." The couple met and fell in love during the making of their newly released film Brokeback Mountain.

-Heath says he is absolutely in love with his six-week old daughter, Matilda Rose, and that fatherhood suits him to a tee.  "Matilda is adorable, and beautifully observant and wise. Michelle an I love her so much, " he said. "Becoming a father exceeds all my expectations.  It’s the remarkable experience I’ve ever had-it’s marvelous."

-Matilda is not the last child for Heath and Michelle, Heath says they want at least five more little ones. "Six is our magic number. We feel like it’s ideal."

Marry your “soulmate” already! And stay true to your vows. My parents will have been married 38 years next April. My sister 10, me zero, but I am engaged and my fiance and I take the sacrament of marriage very seriously I just wish more people did.

Couples don’t have to be married to be committed. The whole idea of ‘marriage’ doesn’t have nearly the same meaning as it did 38 years ago. Plus, Heath and Michelle have only been together about a year. What’s with the “already”? I think it’s refreshing to see them not rushing into things.
