Anya update- 7 weeks old!
At her one month pediatrician check-up, she was 22.5" long and a whopping 11 lbs 5 oz (up 3" and 3 1/4 lbs). By now, though, we figure she must be inching up to 13 lbs. She’s already grown out of the newborn clothes and well into the 3 month size. (We are learning how arbitrary those clothing sizes are.) She is a very good eater and so far I have not had any issues with nursing her. She’s gotten much better sleeping during the night- waking briefly to nurse and changed and then back to sleep quickly when we put her back in her bassinet. Still, waking up 4 times a night is taking its toll on us. My husband took off 4 weeks to be home with us but went back a few weeks ago.
My recovery has been going well. After an agonizing week of healing episiotomy stitches, I started feeling a lot better. I have lost the 15 pounds I gained during my pregnancy plus some, to my delight. I wish the weather was not so cold in New York so I could go out for more walks with Anya but that’s what I get for having an October baby!
The consensus on who she looks like is mixed. People who know me better say she looks like me while those who know Josh better say she looks like him. She definitely resembles the both of us as babies. We think she has his eyes and my lips. The rest remains to be seen!
