Britney Spears’ fans are reportedly upset that the pregnant singer has not been updating her official website. The fans have been posting complaints on britneyspears.musictoday.com that Britney has not updated information on herself, her contests or any other fan club membership features.

Britney’s rep said, "Britney hasn’t written a letter to the site lately as she’s trying to get herself settled with the baby. But she loves writing her letters and will start again soon."

That seems a little selfish of the fans to me. I dont know, I know if my due date was that close, I would be more concerned about the baby then writing a letter to fans. Oh well, Just my humble opinion.

First, the snarkiness:

Yes… I’m sure Leo Tolstoy’s fans clamored equally for another eloquent missive as well.

Now a real comment:

I’m sure Britney has some free time and all, but I somehow do not blame her for this one. At least in this case, she seems to have her priorities straight.

I totally agree…I think the fans are being a little selfish. They need to understand that she’s almost ready to have her baby and that she’s probably trying to get everything ready. I’m sure that she will update it whenever she gets settled in after giving birth. The fans just need to get over it. She will update it as soon as she gets a chance.

How many celebs actually personalize their websites?! Not too many, I’d say. Good for Brits!

I don’t blame Britney at all for concentrating on what should be most important to her. Sure her fans are important to her but above her own family?? Her fans are mostly teens who are not going through what she is right now. So, they need to chill and let her get ready for this baby.

Ha ha- I hope you will be as understanding when my baby arrives and the Celebrity Baby Blog isn’t updated as much! Thank goodness for Sarah, Julie and our new contributors!

Her fan base is definately not the most sympathetic and they are very fickle. Perhaps Britney doesn’t feel a need to update it since she’s followed and photographed at her every turn, she doesn’t have to many secrets left to share.

I don’t know any stars that update themselves about contests and fan club information, so I don’t know why people expect her to.

To her credit, she did update August 22nd and last week, about the hurricane. I just checked.

well, since the fans are the ones who shell out the bucks for her records, and stuff, she oughta delegate to someone to make sure her site is updated. Millions of women work and are pregnant at the same time. Brit can too.

I know that Martina McBride (With two children) while pregnant with her third posted a letter (McBride Memo) for her fans two weeks before she gave birth, and her husband posted on the forum on her site, and she posted another letter one or two weeks after giving birth so…. Britney, not having any prior children, really should be able to find time to at least post a little note or something.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
