Footballer Frank Lampard welcomes daughter

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard and his fiancee, Spanish model Elen Rives, welcomed their first child together – a daughter born by an elective caesarean in London’s exclusive Portland Hospital. (Victoria and David Beckham’s sons Brooklyn and Romeo were born here.)

Lampard announced the decision to have a caesarean was made so that Rives’s 93 year old grandmother could see the baby – denying claims it had anything to do with his footballing schedule. A spokesman for the England star said: "Both mother and baby are doing fine."
