Jennifer Garner's Sydney also expecting

07/26/2005 at 11:06 PM ET

Alias There will be no "barely-hiding of the pregnancy a la Debra Messing on Will and Grace " on Alias this season. No, turns out Agent Sydney Bristow is expecting as well, with Jennifer’s real life ex, Vaughn (Michael Vartan.)

According to USA Today and the AP, Jennifer Garner will still appear in every episode, but the show will be "embracing the fact that she’s pregnant…without putting her in situations where she could endanger herself and the baby" [translation: less stunts this season!] says an ABC programming chief, who also adds that a younger female agent who Sydney will mentor has been added to the cast to up the "sex appeal" that pregnant Jennifer apparently now lacks. Hmm. Shooting starts Friday.

Wow…If I were Jennifer, I’d be pissed. Just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean you aren’t sexy and beautiful.

I think it will be great for Sydney to have a baby.

Wow, that’s gotta be weird to “pretend” to be pregnant with your real-life ex (Michael Vartan). Then again, it would be weird to “pretend” to be in a relationship with an ex too–even if it is only on TV.

Lots of women are sexy while pregnant. And lots arent’t. I guess they don’t think Jen is . I dont’ watch the show though so it doesn’t make a difference to me at all.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
