And here's what Britney did on Monday…

They photograph her so much now, I can’t imagine how crazy it’ll be when the baby actually makes it’s debut. Unfortunately for Britney, water retention seems to be rearing it’s ugly head, leaving Brit to join with Michelle Branch and Kate Hudson in being the celeb face of one of pregnancy’s least favorite changes.

Any of our readers have bad water retention/swelling? My friend just gave birth in June, and in her 9th month her fiance would count the rolls under her chin for her, and make fun of her cankles! Poor girl.

Hahaha I just asked my hubby whether I was a balloon in my last couple months of pregnancy and he said without hesitation “yup”… When I look at pictures of myself during that time I can’t beleive how chubby my face was. My ankles were swollen pretty big too I had to wear flip flops everywhere. Thank god it was May and not December. I’m a tiny person so gaining the extra weight and retaining water did a number on my pelvis and other joints. I was sure glad when the lil guy “popped” out.

Brit needs to stay out of the sun!

She does look a bit puffy, maybe a little more rest will help her. I know from experience retaining water can lead to other health issues during pregnancy, so I hope she is taking it easy

Oh my Sarah! Your friend’s fiance counted her rolls and made fun of her, uh, “cankles”?

Sounds like he should join the “Men Helping Men” support group, like in those old Finesse shampoo commercials. He would fit
right in.

Oooh yeah, I was swollen like a balloon in the third trimester of my pregnancies. It’s normal. I dunno bout you all, but I think she looks pretty cute chubbier

Yup! She had some really bad cankles and chins, hehe. That was about it though-in the middle she was just belly-she’s a skinny minnie anyway. Luckily, she would joke herself about how she felt like a cow and couldn’t fit into her shoes. All the weight is gone now though-it fell right off after her daughter was born.

Oh, I forgot one more thing he and her parents did-when she started the cow comparisons, they would cut any cow pics they found out of magazines and leave them places like her bathroom mirror, on the dash of her car, etc. It was hilarious. She saved them all and put them in an envelope in her daughter’s baby book. She was a good sport.

i had a little swelling in my last month too, but nothing terrible. poor britney. she had said she wanted lots of kids. this may change her mind! i still think she looks great most of the time though. her wardrobe is somewhat strange sometimes, but all in all she has been one of my favorite celebs to watch while pregnant. pretty soon we will all know about baby brit or baby kev!

I’m just happy to see her wearing maternity clothes that actually fit her body. The cutoffs have got to go. Her top is by Childish I believe and her skirt is by Duet Designs.

I blew up my last month, gaining around 1 pound per day. My ending pregnancy weight would have been fine if i wouldn’t have gained 30 POUNDS in 30 days. That pushed me to 200!! My ankles swelled so much my doctor was concerned I had toxemia. I had to constantly ice them and stay off my feet. It’s hard for me to think I was that big, thank God I have lost all the baby weight and then some!!

All I will say is that the REALLY needs to cut back on her sodium intake or something. She looks unhealthily bloated to me, honestly — I really am not trying to be mean (

But maybe she is really near the end… I read that Jamie Lynn wrote in her blog that she’s due in September.

On the Britney note….I think she looks great, but does anyone think she’s taken on an owl-like quality since she’s been pregnant? I can’t explain why I think that, I just saw a pic one day and thought it!

My good friend gained 100 pounds during her pregnancy!!!!! I am sure a chunk of it was water weight as she swelled so bad she was put on bed rest. Her feet looked like pillows with tiny little toes on top……the dr never could figure out why she got so bad, but trust me she looked way worse than Brit

Britney’s fashion sense goes from one extreme to the next. One day she’s wearing daisy dukes and then we see pictures of her wearing these overly long skirts. She should be careful that she doesn’t end up tripping on her skirt. Just an accident waiting to happen.
