Rumors all around that Usher is going to be a dad

07/19/2005 at 07:18 PM ET

UshereishaI haven’t seen any confirmation from news sources, let alone the actual involved parties, but I’ve received quite a few emails in the last few days that Usher is going to be a dad.  Then my husband tells me he heard about it on the Wendy Williams’ nationally syndicated radio show, the Wendy Williams Experience, so I figured I should at least post that it’s a rumor.  So here goes…

Usher’s girlfriend model Eisha Brightwell is supposedly three months pregnant with his baby.  Usher is apparently very excited and has reportedly said he is looking forward to changing diapers.  I don’t know how long they’ve been together but it’s been at least since February when she accompanied him to the Grammy’s.

Someone posted on the Wendy Williams Experience messageboard, "They were at a dinner party and told close friends and relatives the news. It was also speculated that Usher’s mom was not too pleased with the news."  (The poster’s source was Miami Radio- 99 Jamz…www.wedr.com.)

CBB Reader Miss Nats sent me a link from AllHipHop.com where they published the rumor as well, saying that there are photos floating around the internet where you can see Eisha’s belly sticking out.  (Dana*s Dirt has one such photo here.)

One thing I don’t get is that while Wendy Williams is "reporting" that Usher is expecting a baby, her website has a poll asking "Is Usher gay?"  It looks like her web staff doesn’t have their news aligned with her show!  In any case, you should visit her website just to see the funny talking Wendy bobblehead.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
