What are you girls’ middle names?

I like Adelaide. Its not over used and I think its perfect for their tradition.

Patti- Ashley is my twin’s name. I love it. I have a name(Delaney) that isn’t really a girl’s name its a last name so I love the classic girls names and any name that sounds girlie to me.

Erica- Ironically, Heidi’s mom’s middle name is Lynne, and is in the running for the little one’s! And over at “Britney goes to the pet store”, is a whole other story about that middle name! And I can commiserate, mine is Jean, which I used to hate, but I’ve grown to appreciate typical!

It’s especially funny to me, Heidi was all career woman from 16 when she started to work in a bank, to 33 when she quit a week prior to delivery, everything in her home was spotless, kinda like the beautiful but cold high end decorating you see in movies or magazine layouts. She knew what all of us with kids were doing wrong, and she was going to be so perfect and so was her child.
She was going to even childproof her house, but train her child as the rest of us should.
That lasted about 5 seconds, she got the most stubborn, strongwilled, and energetic child of the nearly 100 in all 4 generations I’ve known! And from just days old! Like her mom said, it was the first time in her life when she had something she couldn’t plan out to the letter or control in anyway. Even getting pregnant, she waited for specific milestones in age, career, and mortgage and autos all paid in full, then was quite surprised that it took several years and finally surgery to create Ash, who she was sure would be a boy! And her husband is just like her, he’s an electrician, and they’ve always been able to buy whatever they desired before.
Ashley has done a terrific job of training her parents instead! But it would be nice to see just one more, especially with Ash heading to school soon. Heid’s mom ran a daycare, and her dad taught high school till he was 60, just before he died, so she’s got some good backup in her family.

Funnily enough, their younger brother met his wife in Feb 1992, and by May they were engaged, by Dec they had boy/girl twins, 25 days before he turned 21, plus his wife is 5 years older and had a 4 y/o girl and 5 y/o boy, so in less than a year he went from bachelor to married w/ 4! And he’d planned only to be a career guy. So odd how it flipflopped on those 3 siblings. But they’re all happy, with positive attitudes, and all the kids are healthy, smart, happy, and loved. Who could ask for more?

Thanks patti! I like my name a lot. At first I didn’t, but now I do (even my middle name, which is Lynne. I used to hate having such a typical middle name but now I can appreciate something normal, as opposed to Moxie Crimefighter or something. I hope things work out for Heidi, in the meantime I just bet her Ashley will be keeping her busy like you said.

I can only speak for myself, but I love reading patti’s comments. She’s really knowledgeable about celebrities and I also like reading the little stories about her family too. And she always has something nice to add to the conversation Out of all the Australian capitals (including Sydney), I think Adelaide is the best to use for a girl’s name.

But if I annoy anyone else the way I evidently annoy Kat this past week or two, please let me know. In a pleasant way, preferably.

I liked my great niece Adelaide’s name because it is the only time our family has used it, whereas we have several Jodies, Madisons, Gracies, Ryans in the family and friends. Even Heidi has been twice in our family.

I like Rose. I like all the flower names. I like Rose best. Didn’t say anyone else had to, hope it didn’t seem like I was some authority, or that I had any right to be.

Banjo,I’m not so thrilled with, but it makes sense the way they chose it.

Oh, I like Ivy too, but I’m sure there’ll be someone who brings up Poison Ivy or some other objection.

Rose had special meaning for me. That’s all.

And I won’t apologize for saying Adelaide is more girlie, Sydney more unisex, since I know several Sydney’s of either, but no male Adelaides.

Kat- I don’t think I am any more opinionated than most, and I think this is a forum we’re allowed to express opinions in, if I’m not mistaken.
So for one more opinion, I have been posting and reading your posts for 3 or 4 months w/o issue, so why is it you seem to need to contradict, criticize, or ridicule anything I say, about anyone, for about the past week? And you’ve been particularly mean to a few other ladies,too.
I don’t go looking for your name, but it seems shortly after I post anything, if you’re on, you attack.
