Hey, I named my daughter Avery. (she’s 18 mos) I just loved and thought there were not alot of Avery’s out there. I wish I spelled it Averi instead of Avery. Actually, Avery is a common boy name so I have heard. Their children’s name are beautiful and unique.

What a beautiful, dignified name…much like Finley Faith…I love that mix of modern/ strong alongside classic/ feminine names:-) Works for me…and congrats to them!!

Avery is a very common boys name my son is named Avery, but i also like the name for a girl too. Congrats to angie, jason and big sister finely!!

Avery is actually one of my top favorite girl names. If I have daughters I have wanted to name them Norah Elizabeth, Avery Rose and Evelyn Marie. Finley is a cool name too but I always thought it was a boys name.

- Rye on

Rye- Avery Rose is pretty. The others too, that’s just my favorite of the 3. Another I like is Mallory, or Mellora, and a friend combined Jennifer and Jessica to get Jennica. Hope the do another article like they did when Finley was around 2 months.

Yes, I love the name Avery Rose for a little girl. All of the names I have picked out for little girls I may possibly one day have are names that are from relatives except for AVERY. I think Finley is really a cool name for a little boy, and then you can call him Fin. I had never heard the name Finley used on a girl before. Also, Brooke Shield’s daughter Rowan’s name is also unisex. I have heard Rowan on both boys and girls, but more so on boys. I love those celtic, Irish sounding first names.

Congratulations to the Sehorn family. What a beautiful name. Love their choices of names. Jason will have his hands full keeping those boys away from his home in the future. They are a lovely couple and have been blessed with a beautiful family.

I love the names. In all fairness, the names Ashley, Kelly, and Leslie all began as boys’ names. Ashley is now one of the most popular girls’ names. Times change.

I’ve always thought that Avery was a girl’s name – I’ve never met a boy with the name Avery – Although, I love singer Sara Evans and she named her son Avery! But on the topic, Avery Grace sounds lovely, and it goes with Finley Faith.

Yeah, I totally love Avery & Finley for either gender but they are traditional boys names. As are any name that begins with Mac or ends in son (Madison means son of Maude), many names that we now consider unisex (Rowan) aren’t actually with the rare exception of some place names (Jordan). However, since many of these new “unisex” names are often surnames I think its cool. I myself am torn between classic names (Grace, Lily, Emma, etc) or this surname style.

Avery Grace is an origninal name.

Kat-
didn’t say you had to like the name, or even that I would use it. I just mentioned a variation I heard, which I think I’m allowed to do on this site. And alot of people liked the name. Yeah, Jennifer and Jessica were overused, and yeah, it’s a combination of those, which I think I said. I thought this was about positive comments, and names you don’t hear all the time, of which I’ve known Jennica for 25 years, and she’s the only one I know. And a lovely person, too.
As are Angie & Jason.

Patti – do you know Angie and Jason? I am sorry that you have got your back up about that I said – not intended. I am just expressing my opinions
