Brooke happy to patch things up with Tom

06/15/2005 at 09:31 AM ET

Tcruise At a perfume launch the other night, Brooke Shields, when asked about the public war of words in the press lately between she and Tom Cruise, responded, "I agree with him about his feeling on prescribing drugs to kids. We are in accord…I don’t think Ritalin should be prescribed to kids." However, Brooke says his comments regarding postpartum depression just went too far. "Postpartum depression is a different matter," she points out. "I think I’m more qualified to talk about that (than he is)."

Brooke says that she would like to put it behind her, and that if Tom comes to see her performing in Chicago, she would be more than happy to go see him in his upcoming film, War of The Worlds.

Good for Brooke. She shows alot of compassion and alot of tact. Besides, the one who reaches out the olive branch has the upper hand anyway! Not to say thats what she wants, I am sure the offer is genuine. Kudos to her for being mature enough to handle the whole thing as well as she has!

I feel like Brooke missed the point here, which is that it’s impossible to fairly judge what a patient and his or her doctor (or, in the case of a child, the patient, his or her parents and his or her doctor) decide is best for the patient’s health and well being.

Not all kids need medication, but some do. I know from experience when I babysat a kid with severe ADDH. I really depends on the person and etc, their medical history and illness. Nobody is the same. Tom just needs to keep his opinions to his self, cause he shouldn’t judge people.

Tom is so arrogant.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
