Sharon Stone fighting ex-husband for custody of son Roan

Court papers filed in San Francisco’s Superior Court show that Phil Bronstein, Sharon Stone’s ex-husband, wants their 5 year old son Roan to attend school in San Francisco, where he lives and works.  Meanwhile, Sharon, who lives in Los Angeles, has already enrolled Roan in school there.

Sharon said, "I anticipate that Phil will counter with a request for fill custody as well, resulting in the necessity of having a full custody evaluation… While Phil is an important part of Roan’s life as a his father, I believe that it is in Roan’s best interest to live primarily with me."

Sharon recently adopted a little boy who is now 1 month old who she has named Laird.

She should have full custody, afterall SHE is raising him, not the father…. there’s pics of only them anyways. What is he trying to do…

Just because there are no pictures of them together does not mean that Phil is not an active and important part of Roan’s life. THEY are raising him, and Phil and Sharon both have the right to do what they feel is best for Roan. Leave it to the court to decide.

I know its old-fashioned, but I am of the opinion, that it is always in the best interests of a child to live with its mother, disregarding circumstances where the mother isnt fit to raise the child for whatever reason of course, etc, but more often than not, it is.
fathers who try to take a child away from a happy home, especially when the child has grown to be secure in that environment, are being nothing but selfish, I’m sorry. their only thinking of what they want, not the child. I’m sure that little boy will be happier off with his mom and his brother.

They trade off and both get him equal time. 3 weeks with Sharon, and then 3 weeks with Phil, so Phil isn’t “taking him away from a happy home”. That’s the way it’s been since the divorce. There are no pics of Phil with Roan because Phil isn’t a celebrity. I don’t see why she should have full custody, lots of kids do really well with joint custody.

A child deserves to be with BOTH parents. They need to be civil to eachother when it comes to their child. My parents divorced when I was 10 years old and I HATED how my mom talked nasty about my Dad(did this for several years). Thankfully, she FINALLY came around and my parents are like old friends to eachother.

I hope that both of them put their differences aside and decide to share custody. They need to do what is best for ROAN, not themselves.

Unfortunately once they’re school age you can’t continue that type of custody arrangement unless you live nearby. If they live in different cities he’s going to have to have a primary home so he can attend the same school. I agree, leave it up to the judge. But I really wish that parents wouldn’t have to put their kids through stuff like this.
