ex-Pavement Stephen Malkmus has a baby!

Daddytypes blogged about the hipster/baby tipping point, spotlighting a recent artist show opening, "Make it Now," a group exhibition at SculptureCenter in Long Island City.  The former object of my college desires, Stephen Malkmus, ex of Pavement, was there with wife, artist Jessica Jackson Hutchins, and babe, who was toted in a New Native baby carrier.  I can’t tell if it’s a girl or boy. 

I didn’t even know he was married and expecting.  Good thing I’m not 20 anymore or I’d be crushed.

Ooh! I loved Pavement too! I think he’s involved with a new band now–Broken Social Scene. They’re pretty good. I guess it’s time for me to put aside all hope of us ever getting together. hee hee!

Since when do Pavement count as celebrities? LOL! Oh, it’s so annoying that I will never bear La Malkmus’ firstborn. I have to say though (I hope Danielle agrees with me) I’m glad he broke up with that annoying Heather Larimer she-beast who completely ruined the Jicks.

If Lottie can bring back a bit of sentimental ‘humanity’ and tuneful love back into Steve’s songs, I’m all for the little tyke.
