Two-time Australian US Open tennis champion Pat Rafter and his wife Lara welcomed their second child, a daughter, at a Sydney, Australia hospital. The baby, which weighed four kilograms when born early Tuesday, has not been named.
The couple also has a two-year-old son, Joshua.
"Everyone is really healthy and happy," Rafter said. "Josh thinks it’s great, too. "He’s very excited."
The 32-year-old Rafter retired from singles play in late 2002, although he played several tour doubles matches in 2003 and 2004. He won the US Open in 1997 and 1998 and was a losing singles finalist at Wimbledon twice.
