I agree Amy, she sounds so lame! It is such a myth that after 1 c-section you need another. Your body bounces back alot faster after a vaginal delivery than a caesarian!

Yet another elective C section. (Her first was, I read it straight from her mouth) Shameful.

Planned C-Secs make me sad.

WHY?

Being a natural birth mama, when I hear stars say this it drives me crazy. It’s her loss for missing birth and handing it over to a doctor. C/S are should be used only if there is an absolute medical emergency. Give me Cybill Shepard who delivered twins vaginally! Pam Anderson, Rikki Lake, and Erykah Badu and other celebrity homebirth/midwife advocates should have talked with her.

While I can appreciate all your personal opinions of childbirth, don’t you people feel a bit catty with your comments. First of all, yes she did mention about a c-section in the magazine article however, I believe her daughter was breech and that is why the section was done (true or not, it really isn’t my business). Secondly, I AM the mother of 2 healthy daughters both brought into this world by, you guessed it, c-sections. I do not for one minute feel I have missed out on anything except that I can not torture my children with how many hours of labor I had to go through to bring them into this world. Child birth is a matter of choice what is best for one is not necessarily best for another. Some opt for drugs, some have epidurals, some have episiotomies, some give birth under water etc.
To call Mrs. Sehorn names or demean her position as a good mother is just uncalled for. Simply stated you could have made your case with a little more class.
Also, is Angie Sehorn the only women in Hollywood that ever had nurse for a few months!
God Bless

I saw Angie Harmon on The View after she had her baby and she said she had a C-Section because her baby was breached. Not sure if it is true, but that is what she said.

I don’t agree with elective C-sections, but I’m reluctant to criticize her but so much. I’m sure she’s doing what she thinks is best for her family although I would encourage her to try delivering naturally and discuss the pros, it’s her choice.

Amen, Karen. I too have had 2 c-sections and also have 2 beautiful healthy girls. No doubt about it if there was a 3rd in my future that birth also would have been a section. She seems to be a very attentive Mom. No question Angie is wealthy enough to afford things other Moms can’t. God Bless her most out there just secretly wish it were them.
As far a baby nurse for a few months, is that any worse than your career minded Moms that leave their newborns at Daycares . Not at all, everyone has to do what is right for them and the welfare of their children.
Get over yourselves with all the political correctness and chest beating. Leave the woman alone and just wish her a healthy baby.

She had her first c-section so that she and Jason could guarantee that Jason would be there for the birth. She was living here in Dallas, where Finley was born, and Jason was in St Louis because it was the middle of football season. They scheduled it for the morning after his Monday night football game. He got on a plane late Monday night and flew to Dallas and Finley was born Tuesday morning. The baby may have been breech, but the c-section date was set far in advance to accommodate Jason’s schedule.

I heard they planned the labor via inducing, but had to do a C section due to the breech, and if it’s like women in my family, had to have the kind of incision because of this that makes future vag deliveries difficult, if not impossible. Also, doctors are often hesitant to attempt vag after C section. And in my case, my son suffered birth injury and mild brain damage and I had an episiotomy far worse than the C section incision would’ve been because my doctor kept putting off intervention until the baby was too far engaged. While I don’t think you should deliver this way if not necessary, there are times when it should be done. As for baby nurses, if you can afford one, why not? For night feedings maybe. My6 mom was generous enough to do so for a few nights, so I could rest enough to keep up my mental and physical energy. I don’t condone them 24/7, or nannies, etc, but for occasional assistance, it is probably better than having overstressed, sleep deprived parents, and switching off with hubby isn’t always an option. It’d probably help prevent PPD for some women too.
