Heidi and Seal marry on Mexican beach

05/10/2005 at 10:21 PM ET

Hklum_2 Supermodel Heidi Klum and British singer Seal have gotten married!  The couple, who got engaged just before Christmas, wed on a beach in Mexico today. They are expecting their first child together in the fall, while Heidi has a 1 year old daughter, Leni, who Seal raises as his own.

The low-key ceremony was conducted in front of 40 guests near Seal’s home on Mexico’s luxurious Costa Careyes. Klum wore a Vera Wang ivory chantilly lace gown with an empire waist.

Heidi was previously married to Ric Pipino for five years, while Seal has never been married, but has had relationships with models Tyra Banks and Tatjana Patiz as well.

I like Heidi, she’s awful cute and so is her daughter.I’m half-German and she speaks with a sweet accent,Seal is so lucky dude.

I’m sure the baby will be gorgeous. Both Seal and Heidi have great bone structure (I remember a pic posted here a little while back where Heidi was wearing no makeup, having a bad hair day, and had dark shadows under her eyes, and she was still gorgeous), and anyway, mixed-race kids so often are stunning. I know it’s a generalization, but it’s often true.

It’s a shame Leni’s too little to be a flower girl. I hope she was at the ceremony, anyway (possibly with a relative who could make a discreet exit if she started fussing at a critical moment…). It’s her parents’ wedding, after all. Wouldn’t want to miss out.

Incidentally, have there been any reports that Seal might be formally adopting Leni? I know Heidi referred to them as “the Samuel family” in public, and it’s obvious he considers Leni his own, but from a legal standpoint his position is dicey. If God forbid something were to happen to Heidi, he’d have fewer rights to Leni than the biological father who’s reportedly never even shown any interest in *meeting* her. I’m not trying to be all doom and gloom here, just wondering if that’s something that’s on the horizon. With the marriage, and another addition to the family on the way, it seems like a logical step to take fairly soon.

Anyway, congratulations to the happy couple. It sounds like a really nice ceremony, small and intimate in a beautiful setting with just family and close friends, not one of those enormous wedding productions.

Congratulations to the happy couple. I hope that they are together for many years to come. Seal seems like a great guy that would treat Heidi right. They deserve each other and I can’t wait for their new baby to arrive. (~-^)
