British R&B star Jamelia is thrilled to be expecting her second child though it was planned. The singer announced in April that she is three months pregnant with her child with Darren Byfield, who plays for the Gillingham soccer team in England. This is a complete 360 degrees from the way Jamelia felt when she fell pregnant with her first child, Teja in 2001. At that time she wanted to concentrate on her blossoming career and she was in a "terrible relationship"(with Terry Wallen) that she was reluntant to bring a child into.
Jamelia admits, "At that point, it was devasting to find out that I was pregnant. I was trying to get somewhere with my career and I was breaking through, but I was also in a terrible relationship. This time, after the initial shock, I was elated- I knew that Darren would be over the moon. And my daughter’s so happy."And although Jamelia is only taking a brief sabbatical after the birth, family life with devoted Byfield appears to be beckoning. Jamelia adds "Darren asks me to marry him every single day. I know Darren is the one I am going to be with forever, and we will get married eventually."
