Kate Spade is a nervous mommy. She left her 8-week-old baby girl, Frances Beatrix, for the first time to be honored at the Publicolor’s Stir Splatter & Roll Benefit Thursday night. Spade told other guests that she gave every possible contact number to the baby sitter in case anything went wrong.

We’ve all done that! I was supposed to attend a work party at a hotel and couldn’t leave my 4 week old for 30 minutes with my hubby without checking both cell phones for battery power and reception. And they were just sitting outside the hotel in the car. I must have gone out and checked on them four times in an hour. Finally gave up and went home!
