Yeah! I’m so happy for her! She tried for so long to have a baby and had to experience miscarriages. But finally it happened!
Congratulations!

I’m so happy! I’m sure Amanda and Alan will be wonderful parents to baby Olivia.

Amanda is so brave delivering a 9 pounds 4 ounces baby without drugs. Well done, honey!

Guys, it’s not the weight of the baby that makes it more difficult to deliver. It’s the size of the head. A huge head is harder to deliver than a smaller one. My mom delivered my 10 lb 2 oz brother with no drugs because his head molded nicely. Please stop perpetuating the myth that a mom who delivers a heavy baby is somehow more heroic than a mom with a small baby. I know a woman who recently had an 11 lb girl, at home, no drugs. She doesn’t feel like a hero any more than my friend who had her 6 lb boy, also at home, no drugs. Any woman who delivers without medication is only a hero to the baby who doesn’t start life with drugs in his/her system.

Very true. My nephew wasn’t especially big, but he had a huge head. They gave my sister a c-section; she never would’ve been able to have him the regular way.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
