Now THAT'S meta!

02/25/2005 at 05:57 PM ET

In case you were ever wondering what the infrequently used category Meta refers to, this is it.  Fashion photographer Steven Meisel staged and photographed an entire feature for Italian Vogue comprised of faux stalkerazzi shots.

Obviously the stylist doesn’t have kids because there are a number of errors in the baby shots.  As Daddytype‘s Greg points out, "Bwah! They’re carrying that car seat around with the base attached!"

For all of the photos, go to TheFashionSpot.com.

Vogue0105celebrity22_1PS Meta means self-referential, referring to itself or its characteristics, especially in a self-parodying manner.

That’s a great example. I had no idea what meta was before I asked you. :D

I noticed the car seat base, too, BUT, if you’re in NYC, don’t you need to bring the base in case you take a cab?

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
